Beach Day Fun
Today we had our annual beach day trip at Aberdour! The children’s faces lit up as we reached the beach and felt the sand on their skin, it was amazing to see. Lots of learning and outdoor coastal play where the children explored nature, paddled in the sea, looked out for marine wildlife in rock pools and built sand structures and sand art with shells and stones. Everyone had the best day through hands on exploration and lots of fun memories were made with our friends.

A Fab Friday!
Today we completed our recognition chart ready for the new term. Everyone has had a super few days back in school, so instead of hot chocolate rewards, we celebrated this with a Fab ice lolly!
PE highlights
Class Charter
Today we started to think about our new class charter, learning why children have rights and what the UNCRC is. We had a super discussion led by the upper school group, explaining rights and why the UN created these children’s rights. We finished by writing or drawing our ideas on a post it about what rights we know and thinking about one thing children around the world shouldn’t have to face.
Welcome Back Everyone!
We are all very excited to be back at school this week for the new session. We would like to welcome all our new pupils in P1 and a huge welcome back to all returning pupils across the school. This week we have been enjoying playing with our friends again, creating our recognition board and participating in team games outside for gym.

Judo taster session
This morning we enjoyed a Judo session with Johnny. Judo helps build focus, improve fitness, develop discipline, respect others and have fun. Everyone participated and worked together very well.
Our Leavers’ Assembly
Today we said a fond farewell to our three primary Seven pupils before they transition off to West Calder High School. We performed a small production called “ Do you remember?” that brought both laughter and a few tears to the audience. The uplifting performance included a few songs and a walk down memory lane, as we looked back at our time in primary school together.
We finished with a special photo slideshow looking at how much everyone has grown and each pupil was then presented with their gift. Our primary seven pupils have been an absolute credit to their families and to our school community. As you prepare to step into high school this August, always try your best, stay true to yourselves, and keep aiming high! We will miss you all, the door will always be open to you and we cannot wait to see what you achieve in your next big adventure.
