Watercolour sunset

Today in creativity hour we practised a different technique using various brush strokes with watercolours. We were inspired by the artist Monet and his river paintings. Once we painted the sunset we then painted the reflection using warm colours in long strikes. After our paintings dry we will paint on the city scene in dark grey with the reflection in the water. We cant wait to see the finished result ready for our showcase next week!

Scrap to Sculpture

Last Friday as part of our Art lessons we looked at the work of Eduardo Paolozzi. We tuned in to a live broadcast from The National Galleries of Scotland to lead this session. After exploring the artist a little we then created our own paper creations using only scissors with no glue or sellotape in sight! The creativity was exceptional with everyone helping each other, communicating politely and demonstrating critical thinking. We are going to follow this up in our creativity lesson this week using our French theme and transferring our art skills in to a new concept

HWB community meeting

Today we were very lucky to have Melissa Dunn from our council HWB team come along to talk to partners and pupils on what actions we can we can take in the local area with a focus on sustainability and climate. They met with our eco reps in school who went along to join in the collaboration and suggest their own ideas.
