This afternoon we started to prepare for our next curriculum cafe where we will talk about the different ways we can learn in school. In our small groups we are taking responsibility for presenting to our parents/carers and creating a few simple games and tasks to share with them. We are very excited to share our learning in a few weeks.

Today we had our second last Rugby session where we were learning more about special awareness, safety, accurate passing and evasion. We had a few fun game based drills this morning, in small teams.Everyone was participating, communicating well and demonstrating critical thinking.

Today we had a fun visit from NYCOS where we were keeping the beat and playing lots of fun singing games.

On Friday we were learning that different people need different kinds of help at school. Different people have different feelings and people don’t all behave in the same way. Sometimes, when people are different , it can make it hard for them to understand each other, work together, or play together.
We split up in to trios and each had one classroom scenario to think about. Each scenario was about things that happened to children in schools all around the world. Each group had to think about how people could work together to make school a good place for everyone and how teachers can help with that too.

This morning we all had the opportunity to plant a tree in the nature area outside our school. This was hard work but we all enjoyed being outdoors and developing the area with around 44 trees. We talked about the different types of trees and the significance of tree planting. Thank you to Mrs Johnson from our parent council who came along to help us this morning and give us a helping hand. We can’t wait to see our trees grow in the future.

Last Friday we had an amazing morning at the school fayre. We sold a wide range of handmade products, hot dogs, snack bags, toys, teddies and a raffle. The children also led a few games outside such as darts, sponge the head teacher, hook a duck and beat the goalie. We made over £600 for our school funds and we also had some fun races out in the grass. Thank you to the Parent council who helped to set up the tables and to Mrs Henretty who led the races.

This week we looked at Picasso and made our own card board faces.

Today we watched the short animation of Yoyo & The Broken Butter Lamps before watching the concert live from the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. Last year we even got to go and watch them in Paisley Town Hall. The story is told by narrators who also play music alongside the story to enhance the characters and their feelings.
