We have had a busy second term at school. Here are some of the learning that has taken place:

We have been learning carrying to add and subtract in numeracy. It took a wee while to learn but I got there.  TM
We have been learning about persuasive writing. We wrote a poster to persuade people to buy bird cake. JR
We designed posters. TE
The posters were to persuade people to donate clothes, money, toys and food to charity. AW
We wrote letters to Tom Fletcher. EW
We wanted to tell Tom Fletcher that we are fans of his books. NY
We have been reading the Christmasaurus and it’s funny. AA
We learnt that Jewish people light a candle each night for eight nights to celebrate Hanukkah. RB
We learnt that there is a celebration for when a new year starts and when the new year starts the date goes back to January 1st. JL

For our last Blog of 2020, P6b decided we would share our highlights of the last term.  We have learnt so much about World War 2, completed many orienteering courses and of course making our Christmas products!

Rocio says “I loved learning about World War 2 and surprised how much was rationed.”

Luka says ” Ioved competing in the cross country championships and got a medal for coming first in the boys race.”

Chloe says “I liked doing all the art work and making lots of Kahoots for our Reward Time.”

Lucas says “I liked that we got to make up our own keep fit stations using different equipment in P.E.”

We would like to wish everyone a very happy Christmas and a restful holiday.

Our topic this term has been the Scottish Parliament and Democracy. We have been learning that Scotland has MSPs and that there are different political parties within Scotland. We also planned and took part in a class debate.

We have been learning about money during Maths as well as angles and scale drawing.  During Numeracy we have been doing algebra and we are now learning about the relationship between speed, distance and time.

During PE times we have been learning about the skills of basketball and we have been using the skills in mini games. We have also been learning skills for a mini pentathlon which we are taking part in.

During our Spanish time we have been learning to give information about ourselves and about the parts of the body. We have also been learning about pets.

For our enterprise we have been making Christmas signs, which we hope you will like. Watch out for your orders coming home. As part of our Christmas activities we are also hoping to make things to share with our buddies. We are looking forward to doing more on our Christmas focus and will share with you what we have been doing in our next post.
