We have settled well into P4. Here are some of the things we are enjoying in our learning:

I like the word hunts with British Sign Language on Forest Fridays – SS
Ancient Greece with all the gods and learning about them – AC
I like Ancient Greece and learning about how they design the temples – LG
All the art lessons are my favourite, we have made masks from Greece, too – MS
In numeracy we are getting better at chimney sums – LK
I liked learning about the Olympics – SM
Learning to do chimney sums has made us faster at adding – CD
I liked doing the Greek pots and learning about what they had inside them – ID
I like learning about all the Greek gods – LT
We did distance running in P.E and I liked it – JS
I like the art and drawing lessons because it helps relax me in class – RH
I like learning more about our new teacher at circle time – JC
I have liked the French lessons and telling people in class if I am hot or cold – SW

In Numeracy we have been learning about division which I like. I am feeling really confident with it – S

We have been learning about the Scottish parliament. We have been learning about the life of an MSP as well as the different constituencies – A

We’ve been learning about different strategies to multiply big numbers in Numeracy. I like using the lattice method – A

The theme for our class charter is Ghostbusters. It has our rights on it – A

We voted for our head pupils and house captains. I’m excited to be Birniehill’s house captain – A

I can’t wait to get our leadership lanyards – A

We have been learning to write a formal letter. Today we practised writing one to our local MSP – R

We have started playing basketball in PE. It was great to practise my shooting skills – R

I enjoyed playing basketball matches. My team won! – E

We have been playing tennis too. The mini matches were the most fun – A

P1S have settled beautifully into school and are enjoying learning lots of new things. They have been very busy!

These are some of our highlights so far.

I- I like leaning about the animals in Number Zoo to help me with my numbers.

L- I liked playing with the drums and making my own instrument.

H- I liked drawing my ‘m’ on my mouse.

E – I like to use the writing table.

B- I liked smelling the jelly.

M – I liked feeling the different materials like the rope.

F – I liked playing with the kinetic sand.

H – I liked smelling the spicy pepper.

We also love playing relay games in the playground, going on number and letter hunts in the forest, spending time with our buddies in P7 and snack and story time!
