P5M Blog

In maths we have been looking at weighing – we have been looking at grams and kilograms and looking at the relationship between the two. Moreover, we have also been exploring volume and looking at how to make comparrsions between millilitres and litres.

In topic, we have been looking at art – in particular we have created dot art pieces which looks at Aboriginal-inspired art forms. We created our own lizards which we are all really proud of. We will spend the rest of term looking at comparrisons between Scotland and Australia and we will compare lifestyles, weather, geography and culture.

We have our parade walk outside on Friday 3rd December so please come with appropriate clothing.

We also have our P5 party on Wednesday 15th December so if there are any food allergies teachers should know about, please let them know.

Well done to P5M who WON the St Andrews Day kahoot quiz – we managed to come 1st place our of more than 80 teams! We will enjoy our extra 15 minutes reward time on Friday!

What would happen if the chairs went on strike?

Today primary 4p were writing persuasive letters to the chairs in our classroom. We learned about why persuasive writing is important and how to use the right language to persuade an audience or person,

We learned that a persuasive text needs a title, an opening statement, arguments for and closing statement. We used strong emotive adjectives too as a way to convince the chairs to come back to us.

We had a lot of fun doing this and were relieved when the chairs came off strike and joined us again!

Christmas Enterprise!

Hello everyone, we are very excited to share some news with you all about our Christmas enterprise product. We are going to make recipe books! Next week, we are going to be making some lovely lentil soup. If you would like to get a little taste of this then send your child into school on Wednesday 17th November with a small container so you can try it! This recipe will be featured in our recipe books.

Procedural Writing

The reason for making our recipe books is because we have been learning how to write a piece of procedural writing. We have learned that a piece of procedural writing helps us learn how to do/play or make something.  We can’t wait to show you our procedural writing in our enterprise project!

Thanks for reading,
