P7H School Blog

In PE on Tuesday, we started gymnastics and parkour. We learned different moves, jumps and shapes and then used these to create a routine.  (Hannah)

P7s are developing an enterprise project which will run in school next Friday morning.  We have been working in groups to create interesting stalls. We have been creating advertising and asking classes for donations. (Holly)

In numeracy, we were talking about different countries and their currency. We were investigating different exchange rates and how to calculate equivalent amounts in each country.  (Abigail)

A new behaviour policy has been introduced across the school. Good behaviour will be rewarded by earning 5 minutes of reward time each day, Bonus 5, Hot Chocolate Friday, Praise Postcards and verbal praise. There are 7 stages of consequences including non- verbal and verbal cues, time out and loss of Reward Time. (Brooke)

In French, we have been learning how to say parts of the body including head, arm and finger. Our confidence is really starting to improve (Megan)

Looking Forward

We have lots of things to look forward to this Year including Lendrick Muir and The Risk Factory.  Our new topic idea is really exciting us as it all about ICT (coding, internet intelligence etc).  We look forward to leading the planning for our topic and finding out lots about what interests us.  We are also looking forward to finding out more about the Academy this term.

P7 Enterprise

We are making items to sell at a Children’s Fayre on Friday the 18th of January.  We would like to raise lots of money to reduce the cost of our bus to Lendrick Muir.  In small groups we had a budget of £5 to research costs and prices of good stalls that the children would like.  In P7e we came up with

* Pick’n’mix

* Guess the Birthday

* Face Painting

* Handmade Soap

* Sling shots

* Sweet Mystery Game

* Slime

* Handmade Squishies

* Tombola

* Raffle

We look forward to seeing your children at the Children’s Fayre.  If they could bring some money to school on this day we would really appreciate their support.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Finlay who won our school joke competition.  His joke was sent to judges in London and he has been selected to travel to London for the Voicebox Final.  We are so proud of Finlay and wish him well in the final.
