Our topic this term has been the Scottish Parliament and Democracy. We have been learning that Scotland has MSPs and that there are different political parties within Scotland. We also planned and took part in a debate about the differences between Youtube and Netflix and which one we preferred.

We have been learning about money during Maths, specifically the differences between credit and debit cards.  During Numeracy we have been doing algebra, which some of us think is the best and is so much fun.

During PE times we have been learning about the skills of basketball and we have been using the skills in mini games. We have now moved on to volleyball and we are looking forward to learning about that.

For our enterprise we have been making snow globes, which we hope you will like. Watch out for order forms coming home.

As part of our Christmas activities we are hoping to make things to share with our buddies.

During our Spanish time we have been learning to give information about ourselves and we are about to start learning about pets.

We are looking forward to starting our Christmas focus and will share with you what we have been doing in our next post.

In Primary 5MK, we have been learning…

We have been getting online Mandarin lessons every Thursday.  We made pandas and named each part in Mandarin!

In art we drew a portrait of Ferida Kahlo and learned about her life.

We were learning about Dawali and the story of Rama and Sita.

In numeracy we have been learning about patterns and sequencing.

In HWB we have been learning not to make assumptions about people based on the way they look.

We have enjoyed…

learning the rules of footgolf, it has been a lot of fun.

calculating, researching and purchasing items for our Christmas Enterprise.

listening to our class novel. Which is the sequel to the previous book we read!

listening and talking tasks this week, especially the memorising pictures task.

As part of topic we made sombreros and learned the Mexican hat dance.  We then danced around them!

What we are learning next…

We will become more confident in making Forms and using Sways as we have learned this in Tech Tuesday!

We will be taking what we have learned in Maths about 3D shape and nets, and applying this to our Christmas Enterprise!

In P6 we have been learning all about World War 2.  The children read lots of poems written at the time and discussed what was going on and why poetry was such a powerful tool to convey what people were going through at that time.
