Our topic this term has been the Scottish Parliament and Democracy. We have been learning that Scotland has MSPs and that there are different political parties within Scotland. We also planned and took part in a class debate.

We have been learning about money during Maths as well as angles and scale drawing.  During Numeracy we have been doing algebra and we are now learning about the relationship between speed, distance and time.

During PE times we have been learning about the skills of basketball and we have been using the skills in mini games. We have also been learning skills for a mini pentathlon which we are taking part in.

During our Spanish time we have been learning to give information about ourselves and about the parts of the body. We have also been learning about pets.

For our enterprise we have been making Christmas signs, which we hope you will like. Watch out for your orders coming home. As part of our Christmas activities we are also hoping to make things to share with our buddies. We are looking forward to doing more on our Christmas focus and will share with you what we have been doing in our next post.

This term we have been learning lots of new things!
We have been learning about festivals. I liked the Rangoli patterns we learnt about when we studies Diwali because they were so colourful. HM
I learnt how to create my own Rangoli pattern using chalk. HG
We learnt about the Hindu story of Rama and Sita. HG
We made our own puppet shows to retell the story. RB
I learnt about Thanksgiving. It was celebrated on Thursday 26th November. We found that some of the customs were the same as Christmas and some were different. EW
We have learnt to count in French and talk about ourselves. We can say what our names and favourite colours are. JWF
We are learning how to speak Mandarin. We have learnt the words for some colours. ML
We have learnt to improve our throwing and catching in PE. OC
In footgolf we were learning to control the ball. AH

We are looking forward to a few things before the end of this term.

Hello everyone!

Over the last few weeks we have been very busy in P5f!

In literacy, we have been learning about confusing words called homophones and homonyms. We feel much more confident in using them now!

We have been writing information reports about Mexico and a topic of our own choice. Some topics were cows, cubs, puppies, swimming, crisps and horses.

In numeracy and maths, we have been exploring patterns and sequences. We have also been looking at symmetry and make symmetrical Rangoli patterns.

We have been developing our ICT skills by making forms and sways to demonstrate our understanding.

In PE, we have been doing footgolf and hurdles.

We have also been having TEAM meets to learn some mandarin from Miss Zho.
