P4PS Blog :)

We have been busy writing recipes for our Christmas Enterprise project!

We even managed to follow our recipe for lentil soup and made some in class, the recipe will be in our P4 Recipe Book.

Last Friday, we were able to walk to the local park for our Christmas parade with the whole school, including the nursery! We made snow people headbands in class to wear in our parade. We had lots of fun and enjoyed waving to everyone walking and driving by.

Primary 5mw have been working very hard over the last few weeks. We are learning lots of new things and are getting really excited about Christmas!

We have been enjoying learning the 3 and 4 times tables. We have played lots of games to help us learn our times tables. We are getting better at remembering all the facts and recalling them quickly.

In Maths, we have been focusing on Measure. We have been measuring lengths using centimeters, millimetres and metres. We have been measuring weight using grams and kilograms. We have been measuring liquids using measuring jugs and cylinders to measure litres and millilitres. We know that 1000ml is the same as 1l.

In PE, we have been having fun doing gymnastics. We have been practising skills like jumping, rolling, balancing and climbing.

For our Christmas Enterprise we have been making keyring fidget toys using beads and string. We will selling these for 50p.

We made Christmas tree hats for our Christmas parade using paper and decorated them with glitter. We enjoyed our Christmas Parade and had fun waving at all the people who came out to see us as we walked.

We have been learning about food chains and different types of animals as part of our Australia topic.

In French, we have been learning about food and hobbies. We can say what hobbies and foods we like and dislike.

We are looking forward to learning more about Measuring the area and perimeter of shapes and creating some beautiful Christmas Arts and Crafts.

In topic, we have been looking at art – in particular we have created dot art pieces which looks at Aboriginal-inspired art forms. We created our own lizards which we are all really proud of. We will spend the rest of term looking at comparrisons between Scotland and Australia and we will compare lifestyles, weather, geography and culture.
