We have been learning the ai sound this week during phonics lessons. Some children made little sail boats- which also ties in with our transport topic.  In our story writing we have been writing factual information and have written about hot air balloons and trains.

In numeracy we have been working hard to remember some doubles numbers facts to help give us another quick strategy in addition and subtraction problems.

We made some rockets and put them on the rocket launcher to test outside.

We all had fun when we went out with Sustrans on balance bikes. The teachers went out on scooters too.

Scotland Loves Languages

On Thursday 14th February the Eurovision Song Contest came to Windyknowe. Every class learnt a song in a different language and we chose “Quando, Quando, Quando”  which is an Italian song. We added some maracas, some dance moves and lots of enthusiasm and the panel of judges decided that our class gave the best performance.
Our prize was a continental breakfast on Wednesday 20th February when we enjoyed orange juice, French bread, Gouda cheese, salami, chorizo, prosciutto and croissant in class. We enjoyed it very much!
