Ski Trip!

Super Skiing Fun!

On Tuesday we went skiing to Hillend.

On our first day we learned how to clip the skis in and used them one by one. We were all helping one another to get them on and off. We started going down a little slope and learning how to glide. We had challenges like moving our hands, doing heads, shoulder, knees and toes as well as jumping a little. We were all very tired afterwards.

On Wednesday we got our two skis on and we learned to go up in a ski lift. The ski lift was hard to go up at first but then we got used to it. When we were confident on one ski lift we then went onto a bigger ski lift which was faster and steeper. When we got off the ski lift we went forwards and climbed up the hill using our climbing technique and then we made a big pizza shape and flew down the slope. If we used our pizza shape correctly it would slow us down and we could stop. It was fun!

On Thursday we were all confident going up the ski lift. We were trying to learn how to slow down and turn. We all got up to different levels and were working hard and challenging ourselves; we used our resilience to keep going. We all felt very tired afterwards but it was worth it and so much fun!

Primary 3HW update

We really enjoyed doing our school show, It was good fun. We liked the Hansel and Gretel story and we loved doing all the songs and dancing.

We have been back to normal this week. We have been learning about onomatopoeia. We created our own superheroes and used words like Kapow! Boom! and Zap!

Mrs Wells has been super impressed with our numeracy. We have been challenging ourselves working with bigger numbers.

We had a real author into our school last week- Michelle Sloan. She told us about her book – The Animal Adventure Club. She told us about how she builds a story with characters and a setting. We have been doing the same in our writing. This week we created a character profile of Ursula the sea witch and used amazing similis in our writing. Rhys described Ursula as heavy as an Anvil.
