P7e Blog

Last week we went to the Risk Factory.  The Risk Factory allowed the class to learn about risks and the results of risks.  Here are a few quotes from our trip.

Kian “Be cautious because taking risks can harm you”

Elliot “I learned that at a power station it is not just the boxes that can harm you, it’s the air around you.  The metal bars are there to stop the electricity from reaching you.  Stay away”

Breanna “I learned how to deal with a house on fire.  You have to leave the house as quick as possible and call the fire brigade 999. “

Evie “I learned the proper way to call 999 in an emergency.  I called it and spoke with the operator.  She was asking for different information”

Sophie “I enjoyed learning how to investigate a scene. ”

Lucy G “I enjoyed learning about railways and how dangerous they are”

Kael “If there is a fire, remember to keep yourself safe and evacuate”

Olivia “I learned how to save a dog that was stuck in a river

Elle “The risks at the risk factory aren’t all the risks and there are more risks on a day to day basis”

Isla “I enjoyed exploring all the rooms and seeing what could happen for each risk or environment”

Adam “My favourite scene was the fire because you had to act out the situation and phone”

Daryl “I enjoyed learning about all the dangers and risks that could happen in a real situation”

Looking Forward

We have lots of things to look forward to this Year including Lendrick Muir and The Risk Factory.  Our new topic idea is really exciting us as it all about ICT (coding, internet intelligence etc).  We look forward to leading the planning for our topic and finding out lots about what interests us.  We are also looking forward to finding out more about the Academy this term.

P7 Enterprise

We are making items to sell at a Children’s Fayre on Friday the 18th of January.  We would like to raise lots of money to reduce the cost of our bus to Lendrick Muir.  In small groups we had a budget of £5 to research costs and prices of good stalls that the children would like.  In P7e we came up with

* Pick’n’mix

* Guess the Birthday

* Face Painting

* Handmade Soap

* Sling shots

* Sweet Mystery Game

* Slime

* Handmade Squishies

* Tombola

* Raffle

We look forward to seeing your children at the Children’s Fayre.  If they could bring some money to school on this day we would really appreciate their support.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Finlay who won our school joke competition.  His joke was sent to judges in London and he has been selected to travel to London for the Voicebox Final.  We are so proud of Finlay and wish him well in the final.
