End of Day Post 30th April 2020

Good Afternoon everyone,

I hope you have all enjoyed working on the tasks set for today?

As part of literacy you were asked to watch Newsround and make notes about what they were reporting.  My favourite story was about Captain Tom Moore’s birthday.  He has received over 100’000 birthday cards, plus one from the Queen! Just imagine receiving that many cards!! I wonder where he has displayed them all?

I can see that many of you have also accessed Studyladder today to work on the comprehension task that was set for you.  Well done to:

J.R, S.J, A.C, N.R, C.S, T.E, A.A, E.B, HG, O.G and FS (P3SW) and J.D, M.A, T.G, M.S, L.R, J.B, E.B and S.K (P3FW) for giving it a go.

In numeracy, you were asked to improve your understanding of fractions by cutting food into halves and quarters.  Thank you so much for your lovely pictures;

S.K (P3FW)

 J.B (P3FW)

A special thank you to SK in p3fw for her joke – What do you call a witch on the beach? A sandwich! We hope it gives you all a giggle.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

End of Day Post 29th April 2020

Good afternoon everyone,

Mrs Welsh here, I hope you are all well?  It was lovely today, getting to catch up with some of you. I have missed you all very much and it was nice to hear your voices and hear about all the things you have been doing with your families during our time away from school.

In your literacy and technology tasks, you have been asked to follow and create instructions – I’ve really enjoyed seeing pictures of some of the things you have been making. Thank you to AA (P3SW) for sending us a picture of the pizza you made by following a Jamie Oliver recipe.  It looked delicious and made me feel very hungry!! Thank you also to WS (P3FW) who sent a picture of the literacy work he has done today.

In numeracy, I can see that AC, FS, HG, SJ, EB, JR and TE (P3SW) and ZC, SK, TG, JB and MS (P3FW) have all tried out the 2D shape task that you were set on Study Ladder – well done and keep up the hard work.

I’ve been out in the garden over the weekend – planting some more vegetables and trying to find ways to stop the slugs nibbling on my new plants! However, the weather hasn’t been so nice over the past few days so I think I will curl up of the sofa and read a book or maybe work on my 1000 piece jigsaw.  What will you be doing this afternoon? Whatever you decide, have fun, stay safe and I’ll catch up with you again tomorrow afternoon.

23/4/20 End of the Day Post

End of Day Blog

Good afternoon boys and girls, Mrs Welsh again this afternoon.

I hope you have had a great day today and enjoyed working on the tasks set for you by your teachers.  I enjoyed watching Newsround and learning about how Muslims will be celebrating Ramadan during Lockdown and learning all the different things people are doing to raise money as part of tonight’s “Big Night In,” especially the Scouts Hike to the Moon!!

I don’t think I will manage that, but I have enjoyed spending some time stargazing this week after the sun has gone down.  This week is very special in the star gazing calendar for a number of reasons. If you look up, and there are no clouds in the sky, you might see a particularly bright star in the sky which is actually the planet Venus (look West).  You might also see some shooting stars this week as the Lyrid Meteor shower takes place.  Finally, if you are very lucky, you might see the Elon Musk Starlink Satellites passing overhead.  They look like a long line of lights in the sky, a bit like a train.  Some people thought they were UFO’s. I’ve been looking every night (South west-East) but not been lucky enough to spot it.

I can see many of you have also been working hard to improve you numeracy skills today by logging on to Sumdog.  A special well done to  CS, EW,  JR, OC, OM, RB, (P3sw) and EF, LB, MS, MM, ZC (P3fw) who all managed 20 minutes or more.

It has been lovely to hear about all the different things you have been doing at home with your families.  EB (p3sw) wanted to share some pictures of her new lockdown pets – some tadpoles! She’s been feeding them, cleaning the water and watching them grow, looking closely for the legs starting to develop.

MS (p3fw) won her swimming club stone painting competition with this fantastic entry.  Well done!

Thank you to TG (p3fw) for the picture of your cool new hair do!!  I have told Mrs Angus that I will need to start wearing some of my fancy dress wigs to our online staff meetings to cover up my terrible hair until I can get back to the hairdressers!

 What do you think??

Time to switch of the computers and go outside to enjoy the warm weather!
