Es un dia muy calido, no?

It has been lovely to speak to some of you on the telephone, see some of you picking up resources from school and even see you when I’ve been out delivering packs today. It really has made my day to see your smiles and hear your happy voices.

In Literacy, you were asked to draw a picture of a crazy inventor and then to write a description using the noun, pronoun, pronoun, noun format.  We have really enjoyed reading your work and looking at some of your drawings.

In Numeracy, we asked you to create a code using numbers and the alphabet.  Well done to all those who had a go.  Here is the code that AC (P3SW) created. Can you work it out?

Good Afternoon P3,

What has happened to our lovely weather? I am hoping it will brighten up a little for my walk this afternoon – I am going tadpole hunting!

Today we set you all some tasks in literacy, numeracy and maths, as well as the on -going tasks to work on thought the week.  We have had lots of lovely feedback and really enjoy looking through the photographs and messages you are sending in to let us know how you are getting on.

Many of you have been continuing to work on reading, creating and following procedure texts.SK (P3fw) sent instructions on how to plant flowers plus some photos of her pots that she planted few weeks back. We would love to see an update when they begin to flower or fruit!

Who gave Miss Foote’s pancake recipe a go? TG (P3FW) thought the video of making pancakes was so good he made them for breakfast this morning and is planning to add them to the breakfast menu every week.

HG (P3SW) made a fantastic song using her spelling words today, which she recorded a performance of and shared with us – we were all very impressed! A special shout out to mum for her wonderful instrumental accompaniment.

Well done to AC and AH (P3SW) and NB (P3FW) for logging on to Studyladder and giving the Symmetry Tasks a go.  Thank you to TE (P3SW) for sharing a list of symmetrical objects you found at home.

Buenas tardes ninas y ninos!  Good afternoon boys and girls!
Cómo estás hoy? How are you today?

Me llamo Señora Welsh – My name is Mrs Welsh

Can you guess what I have been doing?  I’ve been learning how to speak Spanish using the Duolingo App.  I seem to have forgotten most of what I learned last year so I am having to go all the way back to the beginning and start again but I am having great fun practising.

Today, in literacy we asked you to write us a set of instructions on how to make or do something. TG (P3FW) shared instructions on how to get ready for bed.  We will all use your instructions to get ready for bed tonight!

EW (P3SW) sent instructions on how to make soup. This made me very hungry so I decided to use your instructions to make a pot of soup for dinner tonight.

Some of you were working on reading and following instructions.  Thank you to LB (P3FW) for pictures of you making shortbread.  We loved seeing you and what you have been up to. In Maths, you were asked to log on to Studyladder and learn how to create tessellations using 2D shapes.

Well done to all those who logged on and gave this task a go – OC, HG, EW,  AA (P3SW) and JB, MW, ZC (P3FW).  Here is a photo of the fabulous tessellation that TG (P3FW) created.

Some of you continued to work on fractions over the holiday weekend. TE (P3SW) practised cutting her pizza into halves and then quarters. Well done!

We also asked you to have a look at the work of the famous artist Escher, who used tessellations to create beautiful works of art.  EW (P3SW) created this beautiful picture inspired by his work.

Finally, we have some birthdays to celebrate.  A great big Feliz Cumpleaños (Happy Birthday in Spanish) to HMcL, LB and MA who are all celebrating this week.
