28th May – End of Day Blog

Good afternoon all!

We hope you have had a nice day and have spent some time outside in the sunshine!

I’ve been watching, with interest, a little Blue Tit family who have built a nest right outside my window and are now very busy trying to feed their chicks (you can see one in the video I’ve taken, below). I’ve also been planting more vegetables in the garden and playing “Snail Detectives!”

Well done to AC (P3SW), EF and LR (P3FW) for fabulous scores on Active Learn today. Also well done to everyone else who is working hard on their numeracy tasks.
We can also see some excellent work going on in Studyladder – super effort from EW (P3SW), JD and SK (P3FW)! Lot’s of you have had a go of the set tasks this week so well done to you all!
We hope you enjoy the rest of your evening!

27th May End of Day Blog

Good afternoon everyone, and what a good afternoon it is indeed!

How lovely it was to speak with some of you on the phone and whilst out doing my school deliveries today.  I hope you have made the most of the lovely weather and spent time outside in the sunshine?

I know that WS (P3FW) was enjoying being out on his scooter this morning when I called and, no doubt LM (P3FW) will be out on her new scooter that she was given for her birthday today.  SK (P3FW) was planning to do a spot of gardening, planting the some Lavender.

In literacy, you were asked to write a narrative, describing your crazy inventor’s bad day. HG (P3SW) and MS (P3FW) wanted to share their pictures and stories.

In numeracy and maths, you were investigating fifths, using the 4 operations and following directions.  Well done to AA, EB, EW, FS, OMcG, SJ (P3SW) and MM, MA, RB, SK and TG (P3FW) who have all logged on to Study Ladder today.

One of the extra tasks this week was to have a go at Coding.  TG (P3FW) really enjoyed it and is looking forward to when the tasks get even more challenging.

We do love seeing your work each day.  If you would like to send something in for us to share, please use the following e mail address

Buenas tardes chicos y chicas, ¿has estado trabajando duro hoy?

(Good afternoon boys and girls, have you been working hard today?)

In literacy today you were asked to draw a grid and invite someone in your house to read you the instructions to see if you could follow them correctly. AA (P3SW) sent in a challenge for the teachers to try.  Miss Foote gave it a go and this was her answer. Do you think she read all the instructions carefully?

1) Draw a circle on the blue square
2) Write apple the blue square
3) Write your name on the green star
4) Write banana on the red circle
5) Write 1+1=2 on the red circle

We also enjoyed looking at more of your literacy work from yesterday. OMcG (P3SW) enjoyed making up a character- he is called Moustachio! Can you guess why?

I really liked your character OMcG! I wish I had an extra pair of hands like Moustachio.  I do have  rainbow hair like him this week as I am trying to hide that I really need to visit the hairdressers! (See my picture below).  I wish I also had an extra pair of hands like Moustachio.

Finally, in numeracy you were asked to practise calculating tenths.  I practised by dividing my chocolate bar into 10 equal parts. If I was being sensible, I’d have eaten just 1/10 but I wasn’t and now I have 0/10’s left. 🙁
