Blog it! Primary 1p

Hello readers!

Primary 1p have been having a lot of fun investigating animals that are no longer around. Sophia knew that the word for this is called ‘extinct!’

We explored objects that show evidence of animals which used to be around, we discovered that the word for these were fossils! We made our own fossils using clay to show dinosaur footprints and even more, have a peek and see if you can spot some dinos! See if you can see Rory’s Pterodactyl and Lyle’s T-Rex!

Primary 1p Blog it!

Hello everyone!

We have now started our brand new topic…Animals! This week, we ventured outside to see what animals we could see in our playground. Rosie spotted an ant crawling along a log and we heard lots of birds in the trees next to the field. Thomas spotted a spider hiding in the grass!

We were also amazed this week by Mason in P7 who demonstrated his DJ skills at our wider achievement assembly.

Next week, we are going to look into animals we can have as pets.

Balance Bike Trip! P1p

Hello everyone,

We had a lovely time last week taking part in the Balance Bike road safety trip. We learned how to use a balance bike by pushing our feet off the ground and gliding, making sure we used our brakes to be safe! Our bikes had no pedals so we had to make sure that we powered the bike ourselves. We took a trip around Windyknowe crescent where we practised going up/down hill, keeping control of the bikes and using our brakes. We had such  a great time and want to thank Rowan and the rest of the Sustrans group for treating us to such a wonderful day!
