P3 Home Learning

Good morning everyone,

Please find attached a copy of the new Home Learning spelling words.  A paper copy of these will also be sent home alongside the new numeracy worksheet.  Please work on spelling words at home (we are going over these sounds again). Ideas can be found on the purple spelling grid.  The numeracy worksheet should be submitted on Wednesday 27th March.

Thank you,

Mrs Henderson, Miss Mackenzie and Mrs Wells

P3HW Blog Update

Hello,

Here’s what P3HW have been up to this week!

Jayden- We went on our trip to New Lanark!

Beth- Children worked at New Lanark and they worked in a factory and they made cotton.

Zak- We learned about the Victorian schools. The punishment if you did something bad was a whip.

Demi- We learned how they had to go to the toilet, they had to go outside!

Tristan- There was no electricity and it was all powered by water.

Ramzi- The steam engine was as big as a small car.

Iemanja- We learned that if there was a house there would be one window per house and up to 10 people in one house.

Murdo- We went on a ghost ride from Annie McLeod.

Rizuana- She had to do work if she was four or over.

Aadam- We followed a path. We had a snack outside.

Orin- Five people had to sleep in the same bedroom!

We have also been doing lots of numeracy and literacy work, working on our spelling patterns and making up alliteration sentences!

Ailie- In Maths we were doing our four times tables with Mrs Wells.

Jessica also wanted to tell us that we have been doing lots of practising for our school show, which is only in a couple of weeks!

For the show we require the children’s costumes in a bag marked with their name. A slip went home earlier in the week with the details but in case anyone needs a reminder:

Witch dancers- all black outfit.

Narrators, dancers and choir- colourful outfits (the idea being we look like sweeties. Anything colourful will do.)

Please can these be brought in on Monday 4th as we are planning on doing a rehearsal whilst wearing our costumes on this day.

Thank you and have a great weekend from Mrs Henderson, Mrs Wells and P3HW!

P3M Blog Update

Hello,

Here’s what P3M have done this week.

Sophie- We went on our class trip!

Jake- We went to New Lanark.

Carmen- We watched a film about a girl called Harmony.

Callum S- The film was about a person from the future who came back to the past to tell us what life was like in old fashioned New Lanark.

Lucy- We went on a ride and it was about a girl called Annie McLeod when she was living here.

Aiden- She asked us if we believed in ghosts.

William- We got to go in and see the old fashioned classrooms and we got to see their uniforms. We got an old fashioned lesson and it was the ‘funnest’ thing in the world!

Eden- They made cotton at New Lanark.

We’ve done lots of stuff in numeracy, including multiplication.

Jaksen- I enjoyed doing the column multiplication because it’s challenging and I like doing challenging things.

Gracie- I enjoyed doing times tables and division.

We have also been doing lots of practising for the school show.

Lauren- I have enjoyed doing lots of practising for my line and singing.

Our school show is not far away! We are very much looking forward to it on the 13th March. Before this we are planning on doing a practice with our costumes on Monday 4th March. Please can you bring in your outfit in a plastic bag with your name on tomorrow. Slips of paper were handed out with the details earlier this week but in case anyone needs a reminder:

Witch dancers- an all-black outfit.

Narrators, choir and other dancers- colourful outfits so that you look like a sweetie!

Thank you from Primary 3M!
