P5f Learn it! Log it! Blog it! 7.6.19

Happy Friday all!

This week has been busy in P5! We have been learning about William Wallace and his place in history. He has been fascinating to learn about!

We have also spent time exploring decimal numbers and fractions. We have been comparing and ordering them, as well as adding and subtracting them! We are all making great progress with this!

Next week, we are looking forward to meeting our new teacher during transition and then getting reading for our final few weeks in P5!

P5f Lowport Day 2

Good evening lovely parents and carers!

We have had another jam packed day and are now sitting in our pj’s watching a movie!

We started the day with a great breakfast of cereal, juice, toast and a bacon roll! After we had finished we brushed our teeth and set off on our morning activities of either canoeing, orienteering or archery. The sun was beautifully shining for us again!

We stopped and had our lunch and then all the groups put on waterproofs and wellies and took a short mini bus to Beecraigs where we were on a forest adventure! We painted our faces with mud war paint, explored the plants, walked through the streams, completed a senses trail and played hide and seek.

We returned to the Lowport center and had showers then enjoyed our dinner of pizza, chips and ice cream!

Miss Purdie and Miss Hendrie came along to join us for our Loch walk – with Miss Purdie at the front we think we did it in record time! When we got home, we got changed into our disco clothes and came down to dance. DJ Mason from P7 came to DJ for us and it was amazing!

After our disco finished, we got into our PJs and had some toast and hot chocolate and settled down to the movie!

We are looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow and telling you all our stories 🙂

P5f Blog it!

We have had a wonderful first week back at school! We have started our new topic learning about Mary Queen of Scots. We have learned lots so far and can’t wait to find out more! Our topic links well with our residential trip to Lowport which is in a few weeks.

We have also started explore fractions in numeracy! Have a go at exploring fractions over the weekend – can you find or make any in your food?

Happy Friday 🙂
