Welcome to our 5mw blog. We have had an eventful few weeks!

We have been excited to welcome science visitors from ‘Edinburgh Science’. We have been learning about Ph scales and what makes different liquids acidic or alkali. We have been experimenting with different solutions and adding them to substances to test their Ph value. Our pictures show how much fun we have had with them.

In numeracy, we have been consolidating our understanding of times tables. We have been reciting them as well as learning and sharing new techniques such as doubling and halving to help us practice different times tables.

In writing, we have been creating procedures so we can demonstrate how to make things such as recipes. We have been reading how to make Mexican bean burgers as well as how to make smoothies and flapjacks. We can now confidently use adverbial verbs such as place, put, stir, mix, cut and serve in our writing.
