Primary 7c Blog Friday the 28th of May

Primary 7c have been enjoying their last few weeks at Primary School!

In PE we have been having lots of fun during our last lessons in Tennis. We have been learning how to serve the ball, backhand and forehand techniques and we have played some mini-Tennis games. We have been keeping fit and active by taking part in regular outdoor activities including walking or running a mile most days and regularly walking to the local park.

In Numeracy we have been learning how fractions, decimals and percentages link with each other. The triangles have been finding percentages of amounts and the rectangles have been converting fractions and decimals to percentages. In Maths we have been working on area and perimeter. The rectangles have been learning how to calculate the area of a kite, rhombus and parallelogram. Triangles have been learning to find the area of right angled triangles and how this links to the area of a rectangle.

In French we have been completing our S1 Transition tasks. We have been revising how to describe a person, naming school equipment and naming colours and animals.

In writing we spent some time writing a very important letter to our future selves as we prepare to make the transition from Primary 7 to S1. In this we discussed our goals for the future and anything we would like to achieve in the future. We plan to open these in a few years time. We are now beginning to work on Procedural writing and will be writing instructions linked to our Outdoor learning experiences.

For S1 Transition activities we had lots of fun trying to make tall structures using only spaghetti and marshmallows. It was clear to see we have a lot of budding engineers in P7c and we managed to build some amazing structures!
