Hi KM! Glad you enjoyed the story! I asked the author who said that baby Koalas stay inside their mummy’s pouch when they’re really young so he was too little to know the way back himself. The joey would also probably be too scared on his own so needed some help. Thanks for the question! Miss Johnstone 🙂
