Lendrickmuir Day 4

It is our last day and we will tell you all about it.

For breakfast we had a selection of cereal and toast. After breakfast we went to the Kilpatrick room to learn about friendship. Three groups then went out to do Search and Rescue, during this we learnt first aid skills and we were trying to find people. There was a hiker, a bird watcher and a dog walker. We had to take care of them and put bandages on them. Only the green group managed to find their person. Some of us went to Jacob’s ladder and archery. Some of us made it up to parts 8 and 9 on the ladder. Another group did low ropes and the walk to the gorge. It was fun! The final group did mini survival and we had to make a den which would be water proof and wind proof. We chose to make the dens for ourselves. The other activity we did was archery.

After a yummy lunch of leek and potato soup and a burger, we took part in low ropes, Jacob’s ladder, archery, search and rescue and nightline. By the time we finished this afternoon every group had completed every activity.

For dinner we had a choice of chilli or pulled pork. After it we had apple crumble and custard. The pulled pork was amazing and the chef even shared his recipe with some of us.

After dinner we went up to our rooms to get ready for our Cheesy Disco. It was really fun. After the disco we got a little treat of hot chocolate and a marshmallow.

We are very sad to go home tomorrow but excited to see our parents and pets. See you tomorrow.

Lendrick Muir Day 3

Today we got up and got ready for breakfast.  For breakfast we had cereal , fruit juice and toast.  After this we had time for reflection.  We had to try and put a jigsaw together when lots of other people had the pieces.

Activities today included nightline, king-swing, archery, trail biking and low ropes.  Some of us had 4 activities today!

At lunch we had carrot and coriander soup, it was delicious!  This was followed by baguettes with fillings such as tuna, ham, cheese and salad.  We also had yoghurt!

Mrs Smillie came to join us for the activities and she got a flavour of archery, low-ropes and kingswing!

This evening for dinner we had the choice of sausages/gravy, BBQ chicken or chickpea stew.  Pudding tonight was malteser cheesecake, we loved it!

We quickly for ready to catch the bus to the Hollywood Bowl and more teachers surprised us with a visit – Miss Foote, Miss Hendrie, Miss Hesp and Mrs Angus.  Miss Prentice also met us here and we are happy she will stay with us at camp for the rest of the week!  Some of the children are delighted they managed to get a strike, sometimes two!

We are now settling down for the night and after we have posted our blog and read last night’s comments, we will watch a movie in our pyjamas!

Goodnight!

Lendrickmuir Day 2

Day 2 at Lendrickmuir started with a delicious breakfast of cereal and toast, with a cup of tea. After breakfast we had Time for Reflection when we talked about what made us us and what characteristics identified us. Then we went out and did our team challenges in the woods. This included different types of puzzles which tested our skills. Some of the puzzles were very difficult. When we completed a puzzle and worked as a team we earned team coins for our rocket challenge. The Dark Blue team won the most coins. The order for picking the rockets was decided by the number of coins that we had. When we had finished building our rockets we went out to the field and launched them. The Green team went the furthest.

After team challenges we had a yummy lunch of lentil soup and cheese pizza with coleslaw and salad. After lunch we went to our first activity of the afternoon. The activities included  Kingswing, Bushcraft, Trail Biking, Gorge Walking, Jacob’s Ladder and Mini Survival. During our break at activities we all got a tasty muffin for our snack. The weather was wet and sunny which made our activities even more fun.

When our afternoon activities had finished and we had enjoyed our free team playing football or going to the adventure playground, we came in for dinner. Our choices were meatballs, macaroni cheese with bacon or veggie bolognese, then we had a delicious chocolate puddle pudding.

Our evening activity was called Murder Mystery. It tested our investigative skills as we tried to guess who the murderer was. The suspects included: the maid, the son, the daughter, the wife, the gardener and the chef. The murderer will remain secret as we don’t want to spoil it for next year’s Primary 7…

Now that we have had supper we are about to watch the rest of our movie and play a game of Stop the Bus.
