The nursery children visited the primary one classes today at Deans Primary School as part of our transition programme and they had a lovely visit. We are planning weekly visits from now on as well as many other activities for children and our parents/carers. Remember to keep looking at our transition wall in the nursery corridor for updates. There will also be updates from Meldrum and St John Ogilvie R C Primary Schools coming soon.We have attached some other Deans P.S. transition dates for your diary.
Easter
It has been a very busy week this week learning the Easter story and having some Easter fun. We’ve coloured in egg pictures, decorated boiled eggs and made delicious crispy cakes. We hope you all have a great holiday and we’ll see you all back on Monday 9th April.
PEEP
A big thank you to everyone who attended our latest PEEP sessions. Everyone who took part was presented with their certificates this week. Look out for more session dates coming in term 4.
Dressing Up
We decided to do away with traditional fancy dress in nursery and now have costumes to encourage imagination and let the children decide what they want to be. Thank you to Euan’s mummy who has been busy sewing us some capes.
Easter Egg Surprise
The Parent Council visited nursery today and gifted everyone an Easter egg before heading off to school to give the older children their treat. Thank you very much from us all, what a lovely surprise.
Scarlet Fever
There have been several cases of scarlet fever in the nursery recently. Please look out for the symptoms. Early signs include a sore throat, a headache, a high temperature (38.3C/101F or above), swollen glands in the neck and being sick.
With treatment, most people recover in about four to five days and can return to nursery, school or work 24 hours after starting antibiotic treatment.

Book Bags
Every child in nursery was given a book bag to bring home this week which caused great excitement. We hope you have enjoyed reading the new books and listening to the CD.
Story Telling
As well as sitting and reading books we sometimes use props to tell stories. This week the children took turns to tell the story of Little Red Riding Hood.
