Some super costumes and cosy pyjamas in school on Friday for our delayed world book day.

The World Book Day celebrations have continued this week, after snow day delays courtesy of the Beast from the East!  This week we have been busy researching information about our favourite authors for our personal projects and preparing to share what we have learned with the rest of the class.

Today we were excited to come to school with our favourite books.  Some of us dressed up as book characters and authors, and some of us came to school in our pyjamas and onesies – perfect attire for getting cosied up with a good book! Some of our parents even popped in and read with us in school.

Thanks in huge amount to wonderful Waterstones in Livingston for having our groups there on Thursday. We were made so welcome. We had a tour of the bookshop so that the children were able to find the books that they would be interested in. We have a varied selection of books now for our area libraries and for The Cool Kids and The Fantastics.

The excellent behaviour of the children was commented on by customers in the cafe. Well done!

Here we are in our world of books.

The Cool Kids and The Fantastics had a trip to Broxburn Library on Wednesday. Some of the children are already members of the library, and others had the opportunity to join. Diane showed the children how to find different books and then they settled down for a read. Here are our fantastic and cool readers!
