Some children took part in a walk to our local woods to look for signs of Autumn. As it was numeracy week we also took the opportunity to look for numbers in the environment such as wheelie bin numbers, car registration numbers and road signs. At the woods the children enjoyed finding different leaves, twigs and tree seeds such as conkers and acorns. Primary 2G
Well done to our team of mathematicians in Primary 2G for giving an excellent presentation to the whole school at assembly today about our learning in maths this week. Also a few super reflections to share to show how Primary 2G is developing a positive growth mindset. Enjoy your holiday weekend and see you on Wednesday. Mrs. Benzeval
Maths Week in P3M
Inspirational Maths in P2G
We enjoyed a very creative maths lesson today. The children were breaking down numbers visually and looking for patterns and groups. The children showed some great mathematical thinking and understanding and were able to transfer their thinking into our number talk. Great effort today, well done everyone.
Maths is fun in primary 1
We have worked on a variety of tasks in class this week. We have sorted out emojis into sets, made 2D shapes using skipping ropes, discussed how we can make numbers in different ways using our fingers and made lots of different shapes using squares. We learned that completing maths tasks well involves team work, thinking carefully, not rushing and having a go-even if it seems tricky. Nobody will make fun of us for trying our best-we have the confidence to have a go. The story of Giraffes can’t Dance helped us understand what it means to have a Growth Mindset.
