Hi Miss Swift, can you advise the best way to write the division answer when their is a remainder?
Morning,
lets look at the division sum 11 ÷ 2 =
We share 11 objects between 2 groups. You will then notice 1 group has 5 and the other group has 6. This is not equal and we need to make the groups equal. We can take 1 away from the group of 6. This will leave 5 in each group and a remainder of 1.
11 ÷ 2 = 5r1
