Primary 6 Weekly News

We have managed to pack lots in to our last week of term.

On Monday we were able to go outside for both numeracy and RE.  In Numeracy the children were working in groups to create their own problems to work out averages.  They all proved to be very energetic, a theme that continued throughout our week.

In RE we used our drama and role play skills to act out scenes from the Bible.  We filmed them and played them back to the class – they were all excellent!

We have been working hard to improve our fitness this term and the bleep test and fitness class this week really showed just how hard you have all been working – well done!!

I was also very impressed with our writing lesson this week.  The pupils were asked to create a leaflet promoting the Rights of the Child.  This highlighted just how much work you have all put in and how passionate you are about ensuring equal rights for all – we are all very proud!

P4 Weekly Update!

Hip Hip Hooray for the HOLIDAYS!

What a busy week we have had considering it has been the last week of term.

We have had to complete our CEM tests which we all tried our best in!

In Maths, we have continued to learn about equivalent fractions and finding fractions on a number line.

Two of our favourite activities this week have been our art activity and our web challenge.

We focussed on using line to create a landscape. Everything we included had to made up of different styles of lines.  Dominika enjoyed using line to make her landscape and thought it was fun.

Our web challenge meant we had to learn and use lots of different skills including typing, creating bookmarks, cut and paste and navigating the site. We had to complete activities to receive secret codes which then meant we could complete the final challenge. Ryan B  –  “There was a lot of quizzes and we could only get the secret code if we got the answers correct. It was quite hard but good fun!”

We enjoyed our third week of our P4 and P4/5 football tournament. Brazil are currently in the lead on the league table.

We have been preparing for Easter and focussed on learning about the Easter Story. We had to sequence the events and write a short sentence to explain the story.

Have a lovely holiday,

Primary 4 and Miss Diamond!

Last Full Day Of Camp

We can’t believe how fast our time, here at camp, has went.  Today has been seen another set of action packed activities with many children achieving personal bests and conquering their fears!

Here are some highlights,

As you can see we have been having a ball.  Tonight we are having another ball in the form of a DISCO!  Look what happens when we don’t discuss our outfits before leaving home!

Home tomorrow!

Lent Challenge – Thursday 30th

Today’s challenge:   Fast from words and be silent so you can listen. Open your heart to God.

Be quiet. Be still.

Find what friends and family come to mind and listen to what God tells you about them. Think of situations in life and consider the Holy Spirit’s guidance and advice.

Drive or walk to school / work in silence.

Cut back on Facebook, text messaging, technology to make space for God’s voice.

Prayer:   Lord, give me the courage to open my heart to you in silence.

Lent Challenge – Wednesday 29th

Today’s challenge : Say a decade of the rosary and ask God to fill us with His Grace, Peace, Love and the Joy of His Presence.

Pray the Glorious Mysteries. http://www.rosary-center.org/glorious.htm

Children can join me at lunchtime at 12.45pm on Wednesday to pray the rosary together.

Hello from a chilly camp!

Today it has been a lot cooler weather however we have had an action packed day to keep us warm, here are some highlights.

The day started with some group games,

Then some hanging about,

Problem solving was no challenge for our mental agility and communication skills,

Tomorrow we are looking forward to a day of plain sailing and clowning about!  Keep an eye here for the photographic evidence.

P7 Camp Is Here!

We have all arrived safe and sound at Dalguise!  It was so lovely and warm when we arrived.  We had the opportunity to shoot some hoops and explore some of the grounds.

Our rooms have the best view in the camp as we are at the TOP of a hill, we will be very fit by the end of this trip!  After a very fulfilling dinner of curry or sausages (as much salad and fruit as you could eat!) we all headed to a camp fire for an evening of fun, singing and ghost stories.

We are now heading to our bed as we have a 7.20am start tomorrow morning.

Sorry no photos tonight as we are having a few technical problems but check out the blog tomorrow for the action!
