It’s time to play but first there is a challenge! Can you create your own board game which you can play with someone at home? Be creative! Here are some things to think about:
What are you going to use as the ‘board’ for your game?
E.g. cardboard / paper / blank jotter
What shape are you going to make your board?
Circle / rectangle / square / another shape?
How many spaces are you going to have? Which direction do you go in? Can you only go one way or lots of ways?
What happens when you land on certain spaces in your game? Do you miss turns or get asked a question? You could include maths and spelling questions. What happens when someone gets a question right / wrong?
How do you win the game? What is your game called? What could you use for counters?
It’s up to you how to play and make your game. You may wish to use items you can find at home. Always ask an adult’s permission first. Remember it could be as simple as drawing out your board game on a piece of paper.
You may also wish to write out instructions to explain to others how to play.
We hope you have a good weekend. We’ll be back on Microsoft teams on Monday. Take care everyone.
