P5 Update 30.1.26

January has gone in a flash.  It’s been a busy month, filled with fun and new learning.

A lesson that was particularly enjoyed by P5 was our narrative about a wee Scottish Mouse.  We enjoyed listening to the Robert Burns poem and added our own elements to the story.  Next week is our Scots Poetry Competition.  Finalists will be chosen on Wednesday and the performance will be Friday.  Have a great weekend.

Merry Christmas from P5

Some pictures from our recent drumming performance with Resilient Rhythms.   We thoroughly enjoyed our time with them.  Thank you to those of you that were able to attend.

It has been a busy but quick term.  P5 have worked so hard and are looking forward to a well deserved rest. Merry Christmas to you all and happy new year when it comes.

P5 Update 21.11.25

It has been a busy week in P5.  We enjoyed taking part in another drumming workshop where we were introduced to some new percussion instruments.  We took part in a whole school reading river which was a bit of a novelty.  I’m not sure it was high quality reading but we all thought it was a huge amount of fun!
Next week we will continue to learn about our role as Pilgrims of Hope.  Have a great weekend.

P5 update 14.11.25

P5 had a visit this week from Resilient Rhythms. It was fascinating to learn about the origins of a new musical instrument, and have a go at it. We are looking forward to sharing what we have learned in the coming weeks.

We have been continuing our learning about Mary Queen of Scots and enjoyed finding out some interesting facts about Edinburgh at that time.  We are all very grateful for modern plumbing! We created images of cramped, dilapidated buildings and used ink and quills to give them an old worldly feel.  Have a good weekend.

Happy Halloween from P5

It has been a busy first week back in P5.  We have attended our first committee of the school year where we have the opportunity to share our views and opinions about our experiences at St Mary’s.

We completed a writing assessment on information reports.  Look at that concentration!

We attended our first upper school Halloween party.  It was enjoyed by all.  There were some cracking dance moves on display!  I apologise for the picture quality being poor.

P5 Update 18.9.25

P5 have enjoyed our mini topic on oceans of the world and the coral reef habitat.  We concluded it by creating a model of a submarine that could dive to the coral reefs, collect samples, provide visuals and provide communication to the surface.  The results were fantastic.  Happy September weekend!

P2 News 25.10.24

Welcome back P2!  It has been a busy first week.  We thoroughly enjoyed rounding it off with our Halloween party today.  There were plenty of superheroes, villains, werewolves and princesses in class.   Some we couldn’t even recognise!  Have a great weekend.

P2 Update 11.10.24

This week we have enjoyed working with Mr Elliott on our Building the Thinking Classroom Project.  We are learning how to organise ourselves into groups, allocate roles, share our theories and work as a team to solve problems. We are loving it!

We have enjoyed some maths play to further enhance our understanding of the number system.

We celebrated mass today with Father Marcin and received many compliments about our fabulous singing.

Have a wonderful October break.
