What have P6M been up to ?

Here is a catch up of some of the things we’ve been busy with.  More Christmas capers to follow.

Here we are taking part in THE SANTA MILE FUN RUN !

It certainly put some colour in our cheeks.

Here we are helping P1 to build  Reading Dens during Outdoor Learning time.

We also had a chance to take care of Muffin and Biscuit , the gerbils who live over at the Nursery. We did an amazing job keeping them fed , watered, cleaned and cuddled !

Here we are enjoying activities during Book Week Scotland. We took part in the River of Reading with P2 and read a story with them. We also painted potatoes as book characters, and we enjoyed the Book Swap which gave us a chance to extend our own personal book collection.

Here we are designing and creating aliens for the Young Stem Challenge’

Our Halloween costumes were amazing .   We all looked fabulously frightening !!

.

Here we are at The Happy Place Workshop with the singing duo St Phoenix.   We heard how important it is to find ways to cope with the stresses of life and build resilience

Here we are enjoying activities of European Languages Day. We especially enjoyed tasting some French cheese  and baguette and  Polish sausage .

During our Solar System project we build models and enjoyed creating abstract art planets.

Here are some highlights from our time in P6M so far.

Learning about Place Value.

Primary 6 M are off to a flying start !

P6 M  have been busy getting back into all of our school routines . We have been creating our Class Charter.

We discussed the importance  of following our School Values and showing respect and kindness towards ourselves , our peers,  our school staff,  our families and our community.

Our SHANARRI Characters remind us of our rights and our needs for good health and  well being for both ourselves and others.

In PE we got off  to a flying start and really enjoyed being back at our sessions with Mrs McMaster. Wednesday is our PE day .

We decided that we want to learn more digital technology and have been spending time this  week looking at Microsoft Word and using that to create posters and for our class Space project ! Watch this space !

Here we are clearing our growing box and then planting our crops of peas, basil and sunflowers.    We hope they grow well .

These are our fantastic  minature Fairyland models.  We chose different fairyland themes – Jack and the Beanstalk, The Three Little Pigs and Golsilocks and the Three Bears.   Our P7 buddies helped us to design and make these.

P1 M Catch up on Samba Band Friday !

What a busy time we’ve had over the last couple of weeks.  Here we are presenting our Assembly to our parents and our school community.

We did a fantastic job speaking and remembering our lines.

Our peas and sunflowers have been growing well in the classroom and it was time to give them more room to grow, so here we are preparing our planting box.    It was hard work pulling out the weeds from last season.  Watch this space to see our newly planted veg and flowers.

We learned some new hairdressing skills this week  during our play sessions.  It was great fun . Our appointment book has a few spaces, so call and book to upgrade your look.

We have been reading lots of fairy tales this term and since Goldilocks was a favourite we decided that we needed to try out some porridge and fruit for ourselves.    We chopped up banana and strawberries to go with the porridge which was just right  !

And finally here we are playing our percussion instruments on Samba Band Friday  We love playing along to music on the Smartboard and getting in the mood for the weekend !   Have a good one !

P1 M Yoga, Numeracy and Dancing ! Another fun week !

This  week we learned all about long , longer and longest and short , shorter and shortest.   We also measured the length of our feet and hands using cubes.

On Thursday we had a wonderful yoga session with the lovely lady from Nurture Yoga.   We learned how to hold strong poses and stretch our bodies.   We also had a lovely chill at the end, and nearly nodded off.

On National Numeracy Day we learned  that numbers are everywhere and we are always using numbers in our daily lives. We did a dance and had to use numbers to count out the steps and the actions in the dance.   We had to concentrate really hard, and as usual we were Superstars !

P1M’s Day 5 of Health Week ! What an amazing week !

On Friday,  Day 5 of our Health Week , we made fruit kebabs We had to choose the fruits we liked and carefully put it on to skewers.  We had great fun choosing and eating the delicious fruit.

After lunch on Thursday we had a wonderful time doing amazing sensory activities which were set up by Miss Allan and Mrs Mc Master.  (Thank you )  We had to show how good we were at balancing , jumping  and rolling.

We also got to feel lots of different textures, some rough , some smooth and some sticky and yukky, we loved it  !
