What a fun week in Primary 1 have had enjoying book week…
On Monday we participated in the school book swap. We got to choose a book to take home!
Throughout the week we have enjoyed lots of stop 🛑 drop and read sessions. It was exciting waiting on the random bell.
After reading one of our book bag books, 10 Dogs, we decided we wanted to find out how many people in the school had a pet dog! We then decided that we wanted to collect information on how many people had pets in the school, not just dogs. Our P7 buddies helped us go round the school and collect the information.
We have also taken part in the river of reading, again our buddies helped us with this whole school activity. All the children had a book to read and we created a very long river, it was lots of fun.
On Wednesday we had a Book Bag 🎉 party, grown ups were invited into school and we were gifted our book bags to take home. The bag looks great and we couldn’t wait to get a look inside at all the books.
On Thursday we made dens and built tents outside for our outdoor learning, we read our books outside and had some hot chocolate ☕️. Later on we made book characters from potatoes 🥔 we have enjoyed reading Supertato and this inspired us.
Friday was pyjamas day in school, it was exciting to come to school in our pyjamas 😀 We also had special visitors, Biscuit and Muffin, the nursery guinea pigs. Those that wanted to were very gentle holding them.
Oh what an exciting and busy learning week we have had! Have a lovely weekend 😀
