P1 30.3.20 Morning Post

Good morning everyone!  I hope you had a lovely weekend and are ready for your week ahead.  Thank you for all your hard work last week.  Remember when you see a mild, spicy or hot task, please choose one to do.   Of course you are welcome to do more than one if you wish but Miss Smith and I do not expect that.  Do what works best for you and your Homework Helper.

P7 Monday 30.3.20 AM

Good morning Primary 7, I hope you had safe and restful weekend.

You should be starting off the morning with Joe Wicks PE lesson – that will get your blood pumping and wake you up for today’s learning.

P7B your spelling words are here:

Spelling Words and Tasks 30.3.20 WORD

Spelling Words and Tasks 30.3.20 PDF

You have Mild, Spicy or Hot with LSCWC and sentences to complete and then one of the more active tasks on P2 – Word Search or -Make a Mnemonic or -Roll a Ball or -Spelling Shapes

Here is a WWII Comprehension Exercise as well to complete.  Read the report first and then work your way through the questions.  The questions are broken down into sections and get more challenging as you work through them.  Do your best to answer as any sections as possible.

For numeracy and maths today, Mild and Spicy are looking at function machines while Hot takes Inequalities from last week to the next step.  Remember to read the topic introduction at the start – it shows you examples and step by step instructions on how to work out answers.

Mild Maths Monday 30.320

Spicy Maths Monday 30.3.20

Hot Maths Monday 30.3.20

Today Primary 7, I am also looking for you to be a bit more independent in your approach to tasks.  Last week the number of questions I received about work where if you had read the post fully, or read the worksheet carefully you could find what to do by yourselves.  I can’t reply to everyone individually immediately so you need to take ownership of your learning.  No more ‘Am I allowed to do this for reading?’ or ‘What time is lunch?’ please.

Have a good morning and I’ll post again at about 12:15pm with this afternoon’s work.

P3 Morning Home Learning Task Monday 30th March

Good Morning Primary 3!

We hope you have all had a great weekend.

Did you all manage to get outside for some fresh air? Did you do anything fun? I went for a walk yesterday and spotted lots of rainbows in windows! Have any of you made a rainbow for your window?

Here are some suggested activities for this morning:

Primary 4B – morning work 30.03.20

SPELLING WB 30.03.20        Good morning dear P4B!

I hope you and your families are all well and ready for another week of great home learning!

We are going to work in Spelling and Maths today and, as you all know, we always begin with our new spelling words for the week.

I would really like to see neat work, sentences with capital letters, but only where they should be, and punctuation at the end of all the sentences.

I’m sure parents and carers will be very proud of you if they see amazing work!

You should complete your tasks in the Home Learning jotter or, if you didn’t get one, in your homework one. Also, if you don’t have different colours for the Rainbow Writing, don’t worry! You can always use pencil for all the words!

Now, let’s get to work! And don’t forget the Spelling group you are in!

Love to you all,

Mrs Valente

P6A Learning Tasks – Monday 30th March

Good morning P6A!  I hope that you are all well and had a restful weekend.  This would be my full day in the classroom with you and so you get to complete the tasks that I set for you today – aren’t you lucky?!

Task 1 – Health and Wellbeing – we have chatted about the things that make a good friend before (during our work on empathy).  Complete the recipe to being a good friend.  Upload your work to your personal learning blog.

recipe_for_a_friend

Task 2 – Numeracy and Maths – we are almost at the end of our block on area and perimeter.  In the last few weeks, we focused on perimeter so complete the attached sheet to find the perimeter of the shapes.  You might not be able to edit the sheet but just open a new word document and type the answers (e.g. Sheet 1 Q1, Q2; Sheet 2 Q1, Q2 etc.)  Upload your work to your personal learning blog.

Perimeter Worksheets

Don’t forget you can always do your tasks in your red jotter that you got for working in during this time.  Just whatever works best for you and your family.   Try to spend some time getting some fresh air today (while following the rules on being outside) – it seems like it might be quite a nice day today.

Primary 6 Home Learning 3oth March

Good Morning everyone ! I hope that you are all healthy and had a great weekend. Our number of the day is 8376. I would also like you to complete one of the attached percentage sheets for maths or even better, you can challenge yourself and do both! Once you are finished go on the Top Marks website and play some percentage games to consolidate your learning. For spelling, try and create your own word search using your spelling words and ask a family member to see if the can find your words. Next spell your words using magazine or newspaper letters and stick them into your Home Learning jotter. Have a fantastic morning Primary 6.

Friday Farewell

Good Morning Awesome Ogilvies.  I hope you are all well and following the rules to keep yourself safe.  Well done for engaging enthusiastically with your learning this week.  Have a good weekend and try to give your brains a break.  I look forward to seeing more of your wonderful work next week.  Remember that you will be learning lots of new things even if you are not always completing tasks that have been set for you.  Be kind to yourself and to the people who are caring for you.  It is a very unusual situation for all of us.  Stay safe and look after one another.
