P4B Thursday 2nd April AM

Hello there P4B, I hope you are all well!

This morning’s tasks are:

Morning Riddle – Mrs Meikle loves dogs and she keeps some as pets. All but two of them are completely black. All but two of them are completely white. All but two of them are completely ginger. How many dogs does she have in total?

Handwriting – Practice cursive writing by writing months of the year and days of the week

(January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December) (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

Maths – I would like to spend today strengthening your understanding of the link between multiplication and division by looking at Fact Families. I have attached Mild, Hot and Spicy tasks.

Then I would like you to spend time focusing on the speed and recall of your times tables. Here are a number of multiplication quizzes to test your knowledge.  https://home.oxfordowl.co.uk/?s=times%20tables%20quiz&posttype_search=post%2Cpage%2Cproject%2Cfind_a_book%2Cebooks%2Cactivities%2Cjargon_buster%2Cvideos&fwp_post_types=activities

PE Primary 1-3

Good Morning everyone,

All week we have been building on our creativity and following along with some different dances and dancers, today it is your turn!

I would like you to put on your favourite song and make up your own dance.  Think about some of the dance moves that you have learnt throughout the week when putting together your dance.

You can use moves such as kicks, stomps, claps, turns, slides, jumps and many more.  Can you dance in time with the music?

Once you have made up your dance you could teach it or perform it to members of your family.

If you are unsure about making up your own dance why don’t you do another dance along with Oti or try some more activities on Zumba Kids or even dance along with Maximo.

Dance with Oti – Jungle Book

Dance with Oti – Trolls

Dance with Oti – Mary Poppins

Dance with Oti – Frozen

Zumba Kids

Go Noodle Dance with Maximo

If you are looking for other ways to keep active throughout the day you can also continue to take part in the Joe Wicks Body Coach PE Lessons which are posted on his YouTube Channel each day.  I have posted the link to today’s workout below.

Enjoy, get creative and have fun!

Primary 7 2.4 Morning Tasks

Good Morning P7, hope you are well rested and ready for the day ahead.

Why don’t you start your morning with a little bit of Number Talks, this will help to get your brain going and ready for all your learning.

https://twitter.com/FVWLricNumerac1

This morning there will be no Mild, Spicy and Hot maths instead there are 2 problem solving activities to choose from. It is up to you which one you decide to do – and if you enjoy the first one so much you can always complete the second.

In each section there will be a different set of questions using the skills that we have worked on over the year, use these to help you solve the problem.

Chocolate Mystery Maths Game-1-7 Mising Costume Mystery Maths Game-1-7

As usual, answers till be posted this afternoon!

Your literacy task today is writing. We would like you to create an instructional piece of writing, in this case a recipe. Think of something delicious that you can make around Easter time – hot cross buns, nest cakes etc and create your own version of a recipe. Imagine that your recipe is going to end up in a special Easter Cookbook, it must be easy to follow, have clear steps and could even feature a nice picture of the finished product.

Hopefully yesterday you were able to try out the quiz, this gave a starting point for how to write instructions. If you didn’t have a chance to look here is the link – perhaps try this out before you get started,

https://www.educationquizzes.com/ks2/english/writing-instructions/

Below is an example of what a good recipe and a bad recipe look like to give you an idea of presentation, hopefully you will be able to tell which is which!

Instructional writing examples

Your second tasks of the day will be posted around 12.15 – keep up the good work!!

P3 Afternoon Tasks Wednesday 1st April

Good Afternoon Primary 3!

Happy April Fool’s Day!

Did you manage to spot our April Fool task this morning? No flying penguins and if you look carefully, Looflirpa is actually April Fool written backwards 😀

We hope you have had a great morning and enjoyed your break and lunch!

Here are some suggested activities for this afternoon:

Wednesday Afternoon Activities

Here are some resources you may need:

Resources for Activity Zones

If you don’t have a printer at home or would like to colour the mindfulness sheets in digitally then follow these instructions to do so.

  1.  Open the file from the folder below and save the image to your desktop.
  2. Open with Paint or Paint 3D.
  3. Using the fill tool you can fill in each section or use the brushes or pens if you wish.

You should also be able to edit these on a phone or tablet if you save to the gallery and then edit.  However, it might only have the pen to colour rather than the fill tool.  If you find another way to do this then please let us know.

Colouring Page Files

We can’t wait to see anything that you post on your Personal Learning Blogs – remember to check for comments from us!

Have a great afternoon and evening P3,

Miss Brannan and Miss Stebbing.
