P7 Monday 20th April – PM

Good afternoon P7, it’s been good to see some real effort from some of you in trying to continue with your learning in this different environment.

(Sorry for the late post – some tech issues on posting)

For our afternoon tasks we have some health and well-being and some topic work.

HWB: Here is a task that asks you to think about your habits, in particular bad ones. With everyone stuck in the house together most of the time we all need to be a bit more understanding and patient towards each other.  Could you help the situation with a change in your behaviour? The idea from the sheet is ‘accepting the
answer “no” from your parents/carers. That means not arguing, pouting, screaming, or making a scene.’ Work on this for a week or two and colour in each time you manage. Let your parents/carers know you are trying this and they will be able to support you.  They will also know you expect an ice-cream if you are successful.  If you are a perfect child for your parents/carers then try and find a different bad habit to work on.

Write which habit you are going to try and change on the sheet or into your jotter and post to your Personal Learning Blogs so we know too and can encourage you .

HWB – Treat Yourself

Topic: It is time to review your learning from our WWII topic.  We’d normally ask you to complete your KWL Grid which we start at the beginning of a topic but since we have a bit more time at the moment we’d prefer it if you could be a bit more ambitious.

kwl chart WWII

The KWL asks you to demonstrate all your learning from the WWII topic but it’s quite a small area to show off the great amount of history which you have learned through our topic lessons, P7 show and WL Museums visit.  So your task is to impress us with your knowledge and how to present this is up to you.

You could use a PowerPoint to share all your learning on Rationing, The Blitz, Women at War, Evacuation etc. etc. You can access PowerPoint through Glow – you might need to add it to your LaunchPad like you did for Teams and WL Blogs.

Or you could create something in your jotter – a mindmap or cartoon even. I’ve used Prezi before but you would probably have to sign up to it.

https://prezi.com/

You could even record a video of you reporting all of you great learning.  The choice is up to you P7 but make it exciting and interesting and try your very best with it.

We look forward to seeing what you come up with!

P5B Afternoon

Good Afternoon

Did you get a chance to watch Authors Live on BBC Scotland this morning after the Bitesize programme?  what did you think of the poem? Have you been keeping a record of your memories and experiences during this time? To look back on in the future and remember how different life was during lockdown.

This afternoon I have 2 tasks for you.

  1. Mindful monster – We are a few weeks behind but this one is well suited to us all at the moment. A reminder of how life can have its ups and downs.

WK 10 slide       Journal wk10         WW 10 monster

Now remember if you don’t have a printer then you can design your own monster and poster with the message.

  • 2. RE

Yesterday was the 2nd Sunday of Easter. It is also called Divine Mercy Sunday.  Read through this and colour or draw your own picture of Jesus. Please upload them to your Learning Profile and I will create a collage of them all.      EASTER2ADivineMercy (1)

See if you can find out who St Faustina is and her part in the creation of Divine Mercy Sunday.

Have a lovely afternoon

Good afternoon everyone! I hope you have had a great morning and are ready for some more learning!

R.E

Read the Gospel text from mass yesterday ( Gospel: John 20: 19-31) and think carefully about what the reading means to you. Next answer the questions on the reading and upload them to your profile.

Health and Well being

Task 1

Watch the Healthy Eating power point and take notes highlighting key facts. Next design a poster outlining the different food groups we need for a healthy balanced diet. Your poster should have colourful pictures and the appropriate amount of information but the layout is totally up to you.

Task 2

Look at the food journal document and start to fill in what you have eaten on Monday. I would like you to complete this every day this week!

Have a super afternoon and remember to eat healthy snacks!!

Primary 6A PM tasks – Monday 20th April

Good afternoon P6, hope everyone had a productive morning!  Please remember to add me to your Personal Learning Blogs so that I can give you feedback on your work.  Instructions on how to do this were emailed to parents before the Easter break but I can send them again if needed.

Task 1 – RME

Read the Gospel text below:

Gospel: John 20: 19-31

19 Now when it was late that same day, the first of the week, and the doors were shut, where the disciples were gathered together, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them: Peace be with you.

20 And when he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore were glad, when they saw the Lord.

21 He said therefore to them again: Peace be with you. As the Father hath sent me, I also send you.

22 When he had said this, he breathed on them; and he said to them: Receive ye the Holy Ghost.

23 Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained.

24 Now Thomas, one of the twelve, who is called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.

25 The other disciples therefore said to him: We have seen the Lord. But he said to them: Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the place of the nails, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.

26 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them. Jesus cometh, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said: Peace be with you.

27 Then he said to Thomas: Put in thy finger hither, and see my hands; and bring hither thy hand, and put it into my side; and be not faithless, but believing.

28 Thomas answered, and said to him: My Lord, and my God.

29 Jesus said to him: Because thou hast seen me, Thomas, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and have believed.

30 Many other signs also did Jesus in the sight of his disciples, which are not written in this book.

31 But these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God: and that believing, you may have life in his name.

Answer these questions in sentences.  You can do this in your jotter or open a document and type your answers.

  1. Why were the doors shut in the place where the disciples were gathered?
  2. What was the name of the disciple who was not present when Jesus appeared to the others?
  3. What did Thomas say that he needed to see before he would believe that Jesus had risen?
  4. How many days had passed before Jesus appeared to the disciples again?
  5. What did Thomas say after he had felt the holes in Jesus’ hands and feet?

Write out the phrase that Jesus said “  Blessed are they who have not seen and yet have believed” and decorate this.  You can write it in bubble writing or fancy letters if you choose.

Task 2 – Health And Wellbeing

We are going to be looking at Food and Health over the next few weeks.  Have a look at the Eatwell plate poster and the food powerpoint (hopefully you can open this).  I’d like you to keep a food journal of what you eat over the week.  If you can, try to indicate what food group each meal includes.  I have attached a template of what it might look like but you can record this however you want.  On Friday, please upload it to your Personal Learning Blogs.
