P2 Afternoon Learning – 22nd April

Good afternoon P2!

I hope you enjoyed our morning activities.  Don’t forget that you can upload your work to your online learning journal – or simply to upload a picture of you enjoying the sunshine and a message to let us know how you are!  You can also ask us any questions that you might have.  It has been lovely to see some pictures of your smiling faces to cheer us up – especially those that have lost some teeth since we last saw you and have been able to share their big gappy grins!

Today is our big topic afternoon and you have some research and an art activity to keep you busy.  We are looking at the fantastic minibeast – the ant!  These fascinating little creatures are quite amazing and so much fun to find out about.

Here is the activity sheet:

If you are looking for extra activities to keep you busy then don’t forget that you can use sumdog.  I have set up challenges for maths, spelling and grammar all about our learning this week.

Have a super afternoon and evening!

P4B Wednesday 22nd April

Wednesday 22nd April 2020

Good Morning P4! I hope you all had a relaxing Easter break with your families and you are all safe and well.

Here are some tasks for you to work through this morning:

Mental Challenge

My answer is 47. What could my questions be?
List 8 questions (Using +, -, x and /)

Literacy

Today, we are going to look at Rhyme. A rhyme is when words have a same or similar ending sound, such as boat, moat, throat and coat. When you are trying to figure out if two words rhyme, say it to yourself to see if they sound the same.

-Read the poem ‘Children of the World Today’. What two things do you notice about the poem? Write a list of rhyming word pairs.

-Draw 4 ‘rhyming trees’ each with 5 branches. Using the words home, work, play and eat can you fill each branch with a rhyming word. Try and do this yourself, however if you struggle to think of your own, use Google to look up some ideas. You will use these rhyming trees tomorrow for your writing task, so keep them somewhere safe.

Maths

This term we are going to be learning about Money. Today I want us to think about the use of decimal points when talking about pounds. Look at the Money PPT and complete the ‘Convert Pence to Pound’ sheet. You can complete this in a jotter or on paper.

Remember if you would like me to see your work and to provide feedback, you will need to upload it onto your Personal Learning Blog.

P2 Morning Post – 22.4.20

Good Morning Primary 2,

I hope you are all well and have been managing to enjoy some time outside in the beautiful sunshine.  We have been watching all the little birds in the garden this morning.   We have seen robins, bluetits, magpies, starlings and pigeons.  You should have a look and see what wildlife you can see.  If you open your window or door, you might even be able to hear the birdsong.

Here are your tasks for today:

Don’t worry if you don’t have a printer, just write it out on a piece of paper or type it on your computer.

This is the youtube link for the song:

Remember to try and upload any work you do to your online learning journal so we can see what you have been up to and please let us know if you need any help.
