P4B Thursday 23rd April AM

Good Morning P4B!

This morning’s tasks are:

Handwriting

Practice your cursive handwriting by writing these sentences.

  1. During the Easter holiday I ate lots of chocolate eggs.
  2. It is a glorious day today and I want to play in the garden.
  3. I went on a Spring walk and saw new buds on trees and lambs in the field.

Writing

Yesterday we looked at rhyming words. Some of you noticed in the poem I gave you that it also had repetition. Repetition helps to emphasise feelings or ideas, which helps to develop urgency.

Today, we are going to write a poem using repetition and the rhyming words you came up with for home, work, play and eat. The poem will be entitled ‘Lockdown’. I have written my own poem as an example, but I want to see your own personal poem about ‘Lockdown’.

Remember, I will be looking for sentences that are well structured using the correct punctuation and that make sense. I will also be looking for them to have rhyming words and the repetition you will see in my own poem.

Lockdown Poem Template

Maths

Today we are going to design a new 50p coin.  The Royal Mint (who make our money) often release special versions of 50p coins for special occasions.  These have included the Olympics, Paddington, London Landmarks and Peter Rabbit.

  1. Design a new 50p coin (or even a whole collection of coins) Who or what will you put on it that is special to you or something that you really love? It could be a sport or a book or film.
  2. You can get some ideas from https://www.royalmint.com/discover/uk-coins/coin-design-and-specifications/fifty-pence-coin/

Remember to upload your work to your PLB for me to look at and give feedback.

P2 Morning Learning 23 April

Good morning P2!

I hope you had a good evening and are ready for some learning?

This morning we are going to be doing some work on symmetry and our reading groups but it will be a bit different from when we are in school.  We are going to use a website that lets us read books.  You will find the book name for your group on the activity sheet.   Try to read your book aloud to either an adult or an older brother/sister if you can.  Remember to use your soundbox if you get stuck on a word!  Please let us know if you are having any problems accessing the site or don’t know which group you are in!

Here are today’s activities:

P7 am Learning 23.4

Good Morning P7, hope you are well rested and ready for the day ahead.

You have been testing yourself all week with your mental maths skills so here is a quick assessment that you can use to track your progress.

BMBT Hot BMBT Mild BMBT Spicy

Today in maths we are going to be doing a recap of time. There are the usual mild, spicy and hot activities. Work through whichever you feel suits your knowledge and understanding of time best. Today we are mainly looking at analogue time, and identifying this on a clock. Use the link to revise and remind yourself using an interactive game before you get started.

Thursday Time Hot Thursday Time Mild Thursday Time Spicy

For literacy today we are going to be focusing on grammar – looking at past, present and future tense. Work your way through the introductory PowerPoint to start with, this will give you some prompts and ideas about each tense and how to change from one to the other. There is also a link to a game below that you can use as a fast finisher task.
