P5B Thursday PM

Good afternoon, Something a little different this afternoon. Lets practice Spanish.

I would like you to revise the colours and then see what you can find in your house that is that colour.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=DsRKoZGaoEM

Then if you watch this and make a list of household items that match the different colours.

eg.    rojo – el sofa       or     verde – la silla

Can you label things in your house with the correct colour and play a game. What can I see that is…  que puedo ver que es…

Then after that if you have time, have a look at this water cycle PP and either print and complete or create your own poster of the water cycle.

Primary 7 23.4.20 Afternoon

Good Afternoon Primary 7,

I hope you have all had a fantastic week so far!

Since you are going to be comparing Scotland and Canada this term, I thought it might be nice to study the work of some of the famous artists that come from each country.

This week we will begin with a Scottish artist.  Undoubtedly, one of the most famous artists to come out of Scotland is Charles Rennie Mackintosh.  Some of you may already be familiar with his work.  Mackintosh was an artist, architect and designer and is most famous for his Art Nouveau designs.  Why don’t you carry out some research and see what else you can find out about him?  Write down 5 interesting facts and post them on your blog.

Once you have finished that, follow the YouTube tutorials below which show you how to create a Mackintosh rose.  The first video shows you how to draw it and the second one details how to add colour.  In the video it says you need a sharpie however any black pen/pencil will do the job.  You will also need something circular to draw around but I am sure you will be able to find something around your house.  It also says you need crayons and watercolours, if you have these resources, great, but if not, colouring pencils or pens will be fine.

Here are the links you will need:

I can’t wait to see your finished art work!  Please post it to your blog and remember to add me, if you haven’t already.

Primary 6 Afternoon Post 23-04-20

Good afternoon everyone. I hope you have had a hard working morning and are ready for some creative learning this afternoon.

STEM Activity

We are going to do a STEM activity ( Science, technology, engineering and mathematics.) This task requires you to be creative and make a rocket using various materials. You should watch the  You Tube clip carefully. The task does not need many resources so hopefully you will find most of them around the house. You are going to  also use your problem solving skills once you have built the rocket. Experiment with changing the size of the fins and the length of the rocket and see what happens! Perhaps you could persuade a family member to join in and see who’s rocket design, travels the furthest distance in your garden. i’ts a lovely sunny afternoon have lots of fun !

Music

We would like you to use ” found sounds” ( keys, wooden spoons, paper, pencils, anything you can safely make a noise with) to create a rhythm to go along with your favourite song. You might be able to record your rhythms on your devices and upload them to your learning profile. We look forward to hearing any recordings you make.

P4B Thursday PM

Good afternoon P4. Well done for your fantastic work this morning. I hope you are remembering to take brain breaks and to go outside and get some fresh air.

This afternoons tasks are:

H&WB

Today I want us to think about similarities and differences, which help to make us all unique.

  1. Fold a piece of paper in half. On one side draw a detailed picture of yourself. On the other side draw a detailed picture of someone in your family.
  2. Identify and write 5 similarities and 5 differences between you both. These could be to do with the way you look or things you are good at. E.g. Similarity – Myself and my sister are both on the same colour belt for Karate. Difference – I have long blonde curly hair while my sister has short brown curly hair.
  3. Differences between us are what help to make us unique. Differences should then be celebrated. Tell someone in your family something that is special about them. Ask if they can tell you something that is special about you.

Music

Today for music we have a rhyme called ‘I Left My Luggage’ that has a simple tapping pattern. The words are quite complicated but you will get there with practice.

You’ll find the words and extra challenges in this document I-Left-My-Luggage
