It looks like it’s going to be a lovely day so if you would rather spend the day in the sunshine than doing work that’s ok! The weather forecast is for it to get cold and wet again by the weekend so you could make the most of the sunshine while it’s here, just make sure you are wearing sun cream and a sun hat 🙂

Whatever you do, have fun!

Primary 6 Morning Tasks 7-5-20

Good morning, I hope you are ready for more exciting learning activities. We are going to do some Numeracy and Writing today.

Writing

First complete the warm-up challenge, you have one minute to complete each activity !

Now that you are feeling more alert , we are going to create and describe our own character. Look at the PowerPoint provided and it will give you lots of ideas and hopefully inspiration! We have also provided a character word mat with descriptive vocabulary which might be useful. It’s entirely up to you what type of character you describe!  Think about some of the well known ones in children’s films like Harry Potter, Mrs Trunchbull and Willie Wonka etc .Consider the following questions before you start.

What does your character look like?

Do they have a secret?

What type of personality do they have ?

Do they have a special power?

What do they like/ dislike?

How old are they?

Describe their distinctive features using exciting adjectives, similes and alliteration.

We can’t wait to read your fantastic character descriptions uploaded onto your PLP.

Primary 7 Thursday 7th May AM

Good Morning Primary 7,

Well, did anyone persuade their parents they should get more pocket money? Remember your teacher deserves a %!

Today’s Literacy Work:

For literacy today we are going to be focusing on adjectives– following on from nouns last week, we use adjectives to describe nouns. The PowerPoint below explains different aspects of adjectives, it then has a series of 5 different activities for you to complete. Each activity is on a different slide. Please complete these in either your home learning jotter or on a document such as word.  To start with the link below will take you to a whole section of games on adjectives, choose a game you like the look of and use it as a warm-up.

Today’s Maths Work:

Let’s keep going with Big Maths Beat Thats – a great way to work on tables and number bonds and building up your speed.  Why not make it interesting this week by challenging a parent or sibling- who can score the most? Share on your PLBs.
