Good morning Primary 6A! I hope that you have all had a good week. I am looking forward to chatting to you on our Teams chat at around 10am. Here are your tasks for today:
Task 1 – Health and Wellbeing
Please complete the school meals survey if you haven’t already done this.
Following on from your task to make up some new meals for the cook, your task for today is to create a “perfect packed lunch” for your P1 buddy! You can choose the foods that go in and can also design a lunch box to put them in. Think about things that you would enjoy, things that a P1 would enjoy, but keep an eye on ensuring that it is nutritious and follows the Eatwell plate guidance. I’ve attached it here again for your information.
We are currently in the month of May which is a Marian month (this means that it is one of the months where we offer our prayers and intercessions to Mary). Have a listen to the song on this video clip, it’s one of my favourite hymns! It makes me feel peaceful, something which we all need at this time. Let me know whether you enjoy it!
Your task is to create a visual representation of Mary. You can use any media that you like to do this. You could paint a picture, create a word cloud, use natural materials to make a collage – be as creative as you can P6. Don’t forget to share your work to your PLB.
Good morning boys and girls. We hope you enjoy your task today. Remember that there is no school on Monday so your learning will start from Tuesday next week.
This week we are going to learn about a British-Canadian artist called Ted Harrison. Ted Harrison was born in England however he moved to Canada and is well known for his bright, colourful paintings of the Canadian landscape.
Use the link below to find out more about his life and work:
Attached below is an art tutorial on how to produce a landscape picture in the style of Ted Harrison. You can follow the tutorial and create a similar picture or you can be creative and create your own landscape picture.
I am sure you have been doing amazing work in the morning tasks and I am going to post here some more for you to learn about.
This afternoon we are going to learn about something really interesting: Roman numerals and how to write any number with Roman numerals!
Roman numerals are like a code, and as all codes, you need to know how to use it.
Here you will find a clip with all the explanations about it:
Followed by a clip with a song about the Roman numerals for you to sing and sing and sing!🤣
After all that singing, it’s now time to check if you have understood your Roman numerals and if you can write any number using them. To help you a bit more, here is a table with them all that you can copy down to your jotters:
Your task is to write the numbers of the months of the year – 1 to 12 in Roman Numerals,
followed by
-the birthdays of the members of your family who live with you, for example:
4-11-67 would be IV-XI-LXVII
It is tricky but it is also lots of fun!😃
TASK 2 – EXPRESSIVE ARTS – WITH ROMAN NUMERALS
Your challenge is to write your birthday in Roman numerals, using bits of paper, straws, fabric, spaguetti, other kind of pasta, rice, or whatever your imagination can think of.
As long as we can see your birthday and it is not just written down with pencil or pen, that is very good already!
