This week we are going to bring together all of the skills we have been learning over the past few weeks of Athletics to create our very own at home Pentathlon. You will be using the skills and tips you have been learning to take part in five events each day: Shuttle runs, standing long jump, vertical jump, speed bounce and target throw. I have posted your task sheet below, please make sure that you read the instructions carefully and watch the videos before you begin the task.
If you are looking for other ways to keep active throughout the day you can also have a look at the document below which is full of fun links to stay active.
Don’t forget to check out the @WLPENetwork twitter each day for fun daily challenges! Over the next couple of weeks we are having some sporting stars take over our PE twitter, have a look and see if you recognise any of these faces and give their challenges a go!
I hope you have had a very good and safe extra loooooong weekend with your families/carers!😃
Although it is not Monday, I didn’t want you to miss out on Big Maths, beat That, or the spelling assessment or your new spelling words for this week so our work today is going to be a kind of mix between the work you usually do on a Monday and the work you usually do on a Tuesday!😃
Hope this makes sense for you!🤔🤔🤔
TASK 1 – Let’s start the week with our Big Maths, beat that!
You will find the files and sound files for levels 2, 3, 4 and 5 here:
TASK 2 – SPELLING ASSESSMENT – After Big Maths, beat that, it’s time for our spelling assessment with the words from last week. For the ones who don’t know where to find them, here they are again:
We are going to learn about the importance of budgeting and living within our means! Sometimes it is easy to spend more than we earn on things which are not really essential items! Look at the PowerPoint and You Tube clip, hopefully they will explain terms such as income, outgoings, salary expenses and debt etc
We are going to continue with speech marks for one more session to fully understand how to use them correctly. Watch the Power Point carefully and it will remind you of how to use speech marks accurately. It will also describe what to do when a sentence requires two sets of speech marks. Choose a spicy or hot activity.
Extension
Write five sentences of your own using speech marks correctly.
Here are some more photographs of the fantastic home learning that has taken place this week from our P1 super stars! Hope everyone has a lovely long weekend.
Why is water important? What do you think? Create a mindmap of what you think about water. Put the word in the centre of the page and draw or write around it.
Good morning Primary 7, end to another week already. Hopefully the good weather keeps up to allow everyone out for some fresh air.
RE Task
Since this is the month of May we have been spending our time learning about the importance of Mary. Today we are going to look at the Miraculous Medal, this is a special piece of jewellery that many people wear or keep in a safe place such as a wallet or purse.
This website will tell you lots of facts about what the different images on the medal represent, you could create an annotated picture or note some of these facts down.
Try and recreate your own version of the medal at home, this could be drawing it out in you jotter or on paper, seeing if you have any materials around the house such as card or tin foil that could help, or making it using an online programme. The template below will give you a close up of all of the different features of the medal.
We continue with our RRS work and UN Rights of a Child. Can you guess which article it is this week?
There is a PowerPoint which has some information and video links to watch before a range of activities for you to complete. Choose the tasks you want to complete but the remember to share your work on you PLB so we can share them with Mrs Miller. I have also attached just the activities in a PDF file if that is easier to access.
Good morning Primary 6, it is Friday already and remember there will be no learning posts on Monday as it is a holiday! I am looking forward to chatting to you on our Teams chat at around 10am. Here are your tasks for today:
Task 1 – Health and Wellbeing
Your first task is to complete the school meals survey.
I would like you to create a “perfect packed lunch” for your P1 buddy! You can choose the foods that go in and you can also design a lunch box to put them in. Think about the foods that you would enjoy, and consider the things that a P1 would enjoy, but remember to make it balanced and nutritious. It should follows the Eatwell plate guidance. I’ve attached it below.
We are currently in the month of May which is a Marian month (this means that it is one of the months where we offer our prayers and intercessions to Mary). Have a listen to the song on this video clip, it’s a beautiful hymn. It is really peaceful and calm, something that is important during this time. I hope you enjoy it too.
Your task is to create a visual representation of Mary. You can use any media that you like to do this. You could paint a picture, create a word cloud, use natural materials to make a collage – be as imaginative as you can. Remember to post your work on your PLP.
And for those of you, like myself, who have woken up early every morning and worked hard all week it is good to have a short break!
I hope you have enjoyed your tasks throughout the week and also that you enjoy today’s tasks. Remember that we always prepare them for you thinking about your learning and caring a lot about all of you, always wishing you to learn a lot and, whenever possible, to have a lot of fun as well. It’s not always possible but we do try our best!
As you know, Mrs Wong has not been here because she has been in one of our school hubs and so I am going to be the lucky one to have a chat with both P4 classes today! Wow!😃👍
Just to remind all:
P4B- 9.30 chat
P4A- 10.00 chat
Will speak to you soon!
Here are your tasks for today:
TASK 1 -RELIGIOUS EDUCATION- 3rd part of Mass
You can find the Powerpoint with the 3rd part of Mass explained here:
As always the Powerpoint by UNICEF is really good, has lots of interesting information and a nice clip for you to watch, along with lots of activities for you to complete on your own or with your family members! Everyone is invited to take part!😃
