Good morning P7, make the most of the nice weather this morning/early afternoon, we’re about to return to the usual Scottish weather!
Here is today’s Literacy Work:
As it is health fortnight we are going to be looking at one of Britain’s most famous Olympians – Mo Farah. There is a Fact File all about his life, then Mild, Spicy and Hot questions based on what you have read. Please make sure you answer all of the questions in full sentences, using the information in the Fact File to help you.
Before you get started, give the Comprehension Crane game a go, it will give you a few reminders of skimming and scanning for information to help answer questions.

Today’s Numeracy Work:
For mental maths we continue with Big Maths Beat That. Try to improve on your score from yesterday. Post your scores/times to Your Personal Learning Blog.

WE continue our revision of Decimals today. There are 3 levels of choice, some people found Spicy quite a challenge yesterday and it is a step up from last week’s work, if needed start on Mild and see if that helps you grasp things a bit easier.
Here’s a little game to get you warmed-up. It can be a multiplayer game if you want to challenge someone in the house.

Good morning! Today we are going to do some Numeracy and Topic.
Numeracy Our number of the day is 54 231 !
Starter Slide Look at the starter slide and do as many examples as you can .
Numeracy Task Most people check a bill at some point in a restaurant, supermarket or shop. You are usually presented with a bill on a screen and they print it out for you. It is important to know how to read, evaluate and check a bill. When checking a bill using the written method, remember to line up the decimal point. You need to be able to work out the best deals and understand special offers in supermarkets. Look at the PowerPoint and then choose a mild, spicy or hot activity to complete. Remember to challenge yourself!
Topic You are going to learn about the fourth Jacobite rising (1745-46) in support of Charles Edward Stuart, known as the young pretender or Bonnie Prince Charlie. Read the document carefully. There are lots of activities and we don’t expect you to do all of them, choose the ones which you find particularly interesting!
Task 1 One way to prevent unauthorised people reading a message in the eighteenth century was to use a secret code or ” cypher.” Write a letter from Bonnie Prince Charlie to Donald Cameron of Lochiel using secret code. Turn your letter into secret code by using some of the words listed at the bottom of the document .
Task 2 Study the Battle of Culloden cards and answer the attached questions.
Task 3 Research Charles Edward Stuart and complete the fact file on him.
Battle-of-Culloden Drama Cards
The Battle of Culloden Questions
Have a super morning!
