P1-3 PE 10/06/20

Good Morning,

Today’s challenge is a little bit of fun, you will need someone to complete today’s challenge with you, maybe a sibling or an adult could join in.

Do not worry if you do not have a printer, you could copy out the grid onto a sheet of paper.  If you do not have a dice there is a link in the document that you can click to roll a dice online or you can write the numbers 1-6 on a piece of paper and pull them out of a hat or bowl for each turn.

The aim of today’s challenge is to be the first person to make it all the way around the board, each time you land on a square you must complete the exercise or follow the instruction given.

I hope you have fun with today’s task.

09.06.20 – P4B – AFTERNOON POST

Good afternoon, P4B!

Hope you have had a good morning and are looking forward to learn more in the afternoon.

TASK 1 – RME – The story of the conversion of Saul

Watch this clip to find out about the amazing story of the conversion of Saul. Conversion means changing from one thing to another which is usually believed to be better.

I think that this clip is lots of fun but if you watch and listen carefully, pay attention and take away the jokes, it does teach about Saul’s story so now, here is your challenge:

Thinking about your Comic strip activity from yesterday, I would like you to draw your own comic strip with the most important events in the life of Saul-St.Paul. It doesn’t have to be very long but it has to show the difference between the way Saul acted in the beginning, what has happened to make him change and finally, some of the things he had to go through after having changed the way he was.

You can find the comic strip template here but if you can’t print it, just copy it and draw in your jotter or a piece of paper.

Really looking forward to seeing your work!😃

TASK 2 – DRAMA – STORY OPENERS

Today, I wan you to forget about being shy or not having interesting ideas! You are amazing and this activity is going to show you how creative you can be.

Primary 7 Tuesday 9th June PM

Good Afternoon Primary 7,

Today’s RE:

In RE lessons in school and at Mass at St. Peter’s, you will have heard that we are called to be saints and that God sends us his Holy Spirit to help us.

Listen to this hymn in a quiet place. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcxOkht8w7c

Reflect on how we could be more like the saints and come up with a Top Ten Tips for being a good person.  Write these in your jotter or type them into a Word document.

Finally, recite the Apostles’ Creed to finish today’s RE.

Today’s Science:

While it can be quite hard to complete science experiments it home, this one shouldn’t be too hard.  Make sure you get permission to use things from around the house and if you don’t have exactly the same equipment in the house, find something you can adapt to serve the same purpose – E.g. you don’t have lollipop stick maybe you could use a toothpick or a straw.  Also be careful when using boiled water from the kettle – leave the experiment to cool where there is no risk of it being knocked over.

Today you are going to grow Sugar Crystals!!!

https://www.science-sparks.com/how-to-grow-sugar-crystals/

You will obviously complete the first part of this experiment today but will have to revisit it throughout the week to report on progress.  You can use a this template to write up your experiment or a similar format in your jotter or typed up.

Don’t forget to share your work to your Personal Learning Blog and have a good afternoon.

Primary 6 Afternoon Post 09-06-20

Good afternoon Primary 6,

I hope you have had a good morning.

This afternoon we are going to continue with our Jacobites project and find out what happened after the Battle of Culloden in April 1746.  Read the passage and the Court Warrant and try to answer some of the questions afterwards.  Do you think Archibald Chisholm broke the law deliberately, what are your reasons for thinking that way?

Jacobite-The Aftermath

The National Archives have a section with lots of Jacobite letters and information. Have a look at it here: https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/education/resources/jacobite-1745/#teachers-notes

You might find the secret portrait object and laws to control Scotland particularly interesting.  All of the written letters have transcripts so you can read them more easily.

Also this afternoon, we are going to use the egg boxes and/or toilet roll tubes you’ve saved over the past week.  Here are some ideas for the artwork you can create using them:

Have fun and don’t forget to upload some photos so we can enjoy your creations!
