PE P1-7 15/06/20

Good Afternoon everyone,

This Summer should have played host to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.  Get Set have created a challenge to see how close we can “travel to Tokyo”.  Over the next 2 weeks as a school we are going to see if we can together “travel to Tokyo”.

Here is what I need you to do:

  1. From the list below or from your own choice of activity you need to complete your daily exercise, this can be on your own or with your family.
  • Go for a walk with your family
  • Go for a run with your family
  • Go out for cycle
  • Play in the garden
  • Complete a Joe Wicks Workout
  • Create or follow along to a dance routine
  • Complete an online club/class
  • Complete an activity from the following worksheet

  1. Go to the following website

https://www.getset.co.uk/travel-tokyo

  1. Scroll down and click “Log Activity”

  1. Enter the school postcode: EH54 8NQ and click to see the St John Ogilvie Primary School Dashbord

  1. Select your primary from the drop down list and submit your daily activity.

I know that you have all been staying very active so I think that we will manage to not only get to Tokyo but back again too, let’s see if all of you Awesome Ogilvies can take on the challenge!

Stay safe and stay active and have fun,

Mrs Lafferty

15.06.20 – P4 A and B – AFTERNOON POST

Good afternoon, P4s!😃

We hope you have enjoyed your morning work!

From now on, and for these last 2 weeks of work, you will start having only one task for the afternoon sent by your class teachers, together with another task that is going to be sent by Mrs Lafferty every afternoon. 😊

AFTERNOON TASK – Health and Well Being

Using the internet SAFELY, do some research to find out about wearable technology that people can get to work on their fitness.

Design in your jotter or on a piece of paper all the pieces of wearable fitness technology that you can find through your research and label them.

Have fun!😉

P7 15/6 AM Tasks

Good Morning Primary 7, hope you are all well and enjoyed your weekend.

Last week most of you had the chance to take part in a variety of different transition activities. We hope that you enjoyed getting the chance to experience some fun activities, and speak to teachers and classmates.

This morning, have a look at the numeracy calendar to see how many of the days you have covered. If you have missed a few dates out, see if you are able to complete these activities.

2nd Level June Calendar

Today’s Numeracy Work

We are going to be working through a few different tasks this week that are revision of number, money and measure. The aim over the course of the week is to design a house! Today we are starting with floor plans, so it is all about working out the area and perimeter of your dream home. Look through the PowerPoint below to remind you if ways to calculate area and perimeter.

You are going to draw out your dream home, if you have square paper you can use this, if not blank or lined will work just as well. Once you have drawn out the house you must label each room, measure the walls in each room and then calculate the area and perimeter – the PDF below has further detailed instructions and an example floorplan.

Today’s Literacy Work

For literacy, we have a task mat all about Edinburgh Castle. Open the task mat and the leaflet containing information below – choose 3 of the tasks from the mat and work your way through them. Everything you need to know should be in the leaflet, except for the parts that will have to come from your own imagination!
