Good morning everyone it is our final week of term and although we are not in school, we have some fun activities planned for the next few days !

Maths – Your task is to solve the mystery of the melting ice-cream !  Try to solve each clue in a systematic way to find the answer to the problem . The answers will be posted on the blog in the afternoon.

Writing – Your task is to write an acrostic poem reflecting on your time in Primary 6. I understand that the year was cut short but try to remember some of the trips, activities, performances and experiences that you have enjoyed. Watch the YouTube clip and look at the PowerPoint, they will give you hints and ideas. Remember that you can use alliteration and similes in your poem to make it more interesting. Write Primary 6 down the side of your page or use the template provided.

Primary 7 Monday 22nd June AM

Good morning P7, We hope you’ve had a great weekend and were able to safely see some friends and family.

Here is a Daily Starter Activity to get your brain moving – complete the task as numbered on the calendar.

2nd Level June Calendar PDF

Here is today’s Literacy Work:

Your main task today is to finish up your reading of White Fang and taking any notes needed to help you write a review.  On Wednesday, writing will be about White Fang so organise your notes, think about favourite and least favourite parts of the story, have you enjoyed it and why or why not?, who would you recommend the book to etc.etc. so you are prepared for writing on Wednesday.  We will be trying something really interesting, fun and worth getting up for at 9:30am on Wednesday so set an alarm or ask a parent or both!!

White Fang PDF version of the book

White Fang pages and film letter This tells you which chapters to read each week – should be part IV now

https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/

This is an online audio book if you need a bit more support with the reading.  There does seem to be a difference between the audio book’s chapters and the pdf so you need to try and see where those overlap.  You log in using the ‘My Class Login’ button using these details:

Username: sjo primary 7
Password: White Fang            Capital W and F and space between words – sometimes easier to copy and paste

Today’s Numeracy Work:

Your challenge today is to ‘Escape the Room’.

You have been helping Mrs Lafferty to tidy up the sports equipment after a P.E. lesson. You hear a loud bang and turn around to find that you have been accidentally locked in the school hall!

Solve the clues and puzzles hidden around the room and reveal the keypad code needed to open the door.

Work through the Clue Cards, each card will give you a 1 digit answer – once you have solved all of the clues, put the numbers together to escape the room. Put your answers onto your PLB to find out if you were right!

P4- Monday 22nd June- Morning Activities

Good morning Primary 4. I hope you had a lovely weekend and are looking forward to your final week in Primary 4! Today, we will be exploring internet safety for the last time.

Here are your morning tasks:

Task 1 Internet Safety Rules

We have been exploring how to keep safe online. Your first task is to use your knowledge to create 5 rules that will  help you stay safe when using the internet. Internet-safety-rules-activity-sheet-editable. You can write the rules in your jotter or on a piece of paper.

Task 2 Create a survey

Your next challenge is to create a survey to find out what your family use the internet for.

  1. List 6 different reasons why people may use the internet. For example, work, games, school, recipes, to find information, etc. Remember to make ‘other’ an option in case they use the internet for something else.
  2. Ask members of your family if they use the internet for these reasons and record the answers by using tally marks.
  3. Use the answers to create a bar graph.
  4. Answer the questions.

On the first page of this document t2-m-222b-tally-and-graph-activity-sheet-template-editable-version_ver_4, I have quickly made an example for you to look at. The second page has the sheet you can use. Remember, you do not have to use the sheet. You can complete the task in your jotter or on a piece of paper.

We hope you enjoy the tasks!

P7 19/6 Task

Good Morning P7,

Today we are continuing on with our RRS activities, can you guess which article we are looking at this week? Below is the PowerPoint that will go through the article then choose which of the activities you wish to complete, there is also a PDF version of the activities for you.

Article-of-the-Week

Article Activities

During the month of June we like to focus on Saints, who they are and why they became saints – it is important in P7 to learn about younger saints. Write a biography or create a PowerPoint about one of these younger Saints, the link below might give you some ideas of who to write about. Some of the stories are quite sad, but it is often the hard times that bring people closer to God.

Young Saints – Top 25 Saints Under 25

We look forward to speaking to those at 10 who can make it!
