Can you believe it’s the last week of term?  I have really loved teaching you all this year on a Wednesday and I am very proud of each and every one of you.  I hope you are all going to have a fantastic summer and I look forward to seeing you all back at school in August.

Today is going to be hot and sunny and your work is all about how to keep safe when you are out in the sun.  Remember to follow the sun safety advice and drink plenty of water.

This morning’s tasks are:

Maths – Have a look at the ‘Spending Spree Game’. Make your own Money board game using the theme of summer. If you like you can include ‘chance’ type cards, like you would find within monopoly. You can use one of the templates attached or come up with your own template. Maybe once you are finished you could have a games night to try out your very own game. I am so impressed with how many of you are logging your activity through the Get Set website and it just shows me how active all of you #AwesomeOgilvies are being during this time.  It is a great way to spend some time with your family and get you out of the house, even with the not so great weather!

So far our total is at 288hours and 10minutes.

Good Afternoon Primary 7,

I hope you are all having a fantastic week and looking forward to your leaving celebrations on Thursday.  I can’t quite believe that you are all in your last week of primary school.

Since you are all going to be busy on Thursday, we thought we could do some fun art this afternoon instead.  Have you all heard of optical illusions?  An optical illusion can use light, colour and pattern to create images that are deceptive to our brain.  Optical illusions trick our brains into seeing things which may not be real.  Today we are going to create our own optical illusions, but before we do that, have a look at some examples on this website and see if they trick your brain:

Lots of artists use optical art in their artwork so I thought we could give it a try.  Below, I have attached some you tube tutorials for you to follow.  You will have to follow the instructions very carefully and you may have to pause the video at points to allow you to catch up.  There are also lots of other examples on YouTube so feel free to try out some other ones or you could even try creating one of your own.

Good Afternoon. How did your summer challenges go this morning? Mrs Miller and I would love to know how you feel about Primary 5. It’s certainly been interesting. You have all been tremendous, trying so hard to stay in contact and keeping on learning.
