A message from Mrs McKissack and Mrs Egan

Dear Boys and Girls,

We cannot believe we are at the end of term already.  It feels so long ago that we were all together but we know that staying at home and keeping safe was the right thing to do.  All of the staff are so proud of you for all that you have achieved at home with your families during this difficult time.  We have loved seeing all of the exciting and inventive ways that you have continued to learn at home and are looking forward to you teaching us new skills when we are back together again.

P7, we wish you all the best as you move on to high school.  It was lovely to see so many of you yesterday and to get to say goodbye.  You might be moving on, but you always be an Awesome Ogilvie.  Work hard, be kind and remember the words of St John Ogilvie, that you are “Born for Greater Things”.

To our parents and families, we are grateful, as ever for the support that you continue to give us.  During this time, this has been ever more evident and has made a difficult time for us all, easier to manage.  We are sure that despite the challenges, you have enjoyed the precious time that you have been able to spend with your children and know that they will have benefitted so much from their time learning from home.

To the staff of our school, we would like to thank you for all that you do, each and every day to support our children and families.  We would also like to thank you for the support that you give us, we could not do our job without you.

On behalf of all of the staff of St John Ogilvie, we wish you a pleasant Summer break and look forward to hopefully seeing you all back in August.

May the God of the quiet and stillness, fill our hearts with calm.

May the God of life and activity give us the energy to serve.

May the God of vision and confidence give us hope for the future.

Stay safe and Take Care

Primary 7B Leaver’s Video

Primary 7,

It has been an absolute pleasure working with you this year.  I am sorry that we didn’t get

to do so many of the usual P7 activities in our last term of primary school but I do

remember all the many fun and enjoyable times we did have. Enjoy your time off but make

sure you are ready to learn and get stuck in when you start high school.  I always love it

when former pupils pop into the school to say hello and let me know how they are getting

on so I hope to see you all again.

Good luck and may St. John Ogilvie always guide you safely home.

A Summer Message

Good Morning Everyone,

Well this is certainly not the end of the school year any of us could have ever expected or predicted.  I just want to take this time to express how proud I am of you all.  You have gone from face to face learning to online learning very quickly and have all taken to it like a duck to water.  I have really enjoyed seeing your fun family adventures and hearing about all the exciting ways you have been keeping active throughout these tough times.

I hope you all continue to stay active over the Summer holidays with your families and I cannot wait to see all of your happy smiling faces after a very well deserved break.

Keep being awesome #AWESOMEOGILVIES

Stay safe,

Love

P7 Final Task

Good morning Primary 7. It was so lovely to have the opportunity to see so many of you yesterday and even though it was not the send off we would have originally planned it gave us all a chance to get together.

Your final task of P7 is to reflect, to look back over the 7 years you have been a part of our SJO family – what have you learned? How have you changed? Have you grown (in height, personality, confidence?)

Pick something about YOU and then share it, this can be a story, a picture, or even just telling a family member.

P5B Friday Morning

Here we are. Our final Friday. You have all been tremendous and I’m very proud of all your efforts. I hope you all have a wonderful restful summer as I know you will all work hard and have a fabulous time with Mr Pentland in P6.

Keep practising your times tables, try and write some little letters or postcards to friends and family to practise your handwriting and spelling (it will also make the recipient very happy), remember small acts of kindness have a huge effect on others, read lots, sleep well and most of all remember:

Diabetes.co.uk on Twitter: "#FridayFeeling #FridayMotivation 💙… "

Enjoy unwrapping each new day.

Task 1

Rights of the child –Article-30

Task 2

Some outdoor thinking cards, you can do as many as you like. You can even save the others to use during the holidays

OT-32     OT-35        OT-36         OT-39         OT-40

God bless you all and keep you safe

Have a wonderful summer.

P6 Tasks – Friday 26th June

Good morning Primary 6 and welcome to your last activities of the year!  We are really proud of how hard you have worked during remote learning and can’t wait to welcome you back to school for P7.  Have a lovely summer break, hopefully the sun will shine for some of it!  We will see you when you are our most senior pupils!

Task 1 – STEAM Activity

Watch the YouTube clip and try to create your own!

Task 2 – RME

Sunday is the Feast of St Peter and St Paul.  This usually has great significance in our school parish as it is named after St Peter.  St Peter and St Paul are the twin founders of the church in Rome.  St Peter, a fisherman, became the leader of the apostles and the rock on which the Church is built, while St Paul preached fearlessly in many different places. St Peter died by crucifixion while St Paul was beheaded. Both proclaimed with their lives that Jesus is the Son of God.   Watch the video and answer the questions.  If you print the sheet, you can colour the picture but if not, you could try to draw it yourself.
