Good afternoon Primary 4. I hope you enjoyed the morning activities.

Here are your afternoon tasks:

Task 1 Science- Make a rainbow

Today you will be creating a rainbow!

All you need is a glass of water, a white piece of paper and the sun (or a torch if the sun isn’t shining.). I completed the experiment using the torch on my phone.

P5 Thursday 25th June PM

Good afternoon. I hope you have been able o make the most of the glorious weather we are having. There’s nothing beter than sitting outside with a iced glass of juice (or coffee, if you’re me) and a good book. I hope to be doing that in a couple of hours. Enjoy your time outdoors but stay sunsafe. Hat, cream and hydrate.

Task 1

Can you create a Sun Safety Reminder poster?

Think about the things you and your family need to remember before going out into the sun. Here are some ideas.

Primary 6 Afternoon Tasks 25-6-20

Good afternoon, I hope that you have enjoyed the tasks that were posted this morning. Remember to make time for the Mrs Lafferty’s P.E activities. We have also prepared an art activity which might put you in the mood for summer, perhaps you could complete this outside in the warm sunshine?  Your task is to draw a self portrait wearing sunglasses that you have designed!  Look at the images below for some inspiration and then let your imagination go wild. Have some fun experimenting with different designs. Finally use a fine black pen to add pattern and detail to the hair!

Enjoy your afternoon!

P5 Thursday 25th June AM

Good morning. We have reached our final full day in P5. It has been a year to remember and Mrs Miller and I will always remember how wonderful you have all been and how well you have tried to continue with your learning.

We are extremely proud of all your efforts to achieve the John Muir Award and the John Muir Trust agree, so your certificates will be awarded and sent out to school in the new school year. As a conclusion and to record your journey, I have 2 tasks for you to complete with a JM  award theme.

TASK 1:

John Muir and the 4 challenges

TASK 2:

Watch this short video recorded by the JM Trust.

www.johnmuirtrust.org/latest/films/the-mountains-are-calling

The people in the video were asked to finish a sentence with experiences about being in the hills and mountains. I have take the same sentences and changed ‘hills’ to ‘outdoors’.

You can; think about a day you did outdoor learning at school, OR , a day you spent outdoors during lockdown, OR, you can write imaginary responses or a perfect day outside. The CHOICE is yours.

 Maths Tasks

You can continue with the online maths that Mrs Miller set you, I know how much you are all enjoying it. Here are some other activities you can try

Task 1 – Word problems

word-problems-MILD            word-problems-SPICY                      word-problems-HOT

Task 2 –  If you don’t have time, save these for later or for some summer practise.

Summer-multiplication-mosaics 1 MILD                     Summer-multiplication-mosaics 2 SPICY                                    Summer-multiplication-mosaics 3 Hot

Primary 6 Morning Tasks 25-06-20

Good morning Primary 6,

This is the second last day of term!  You should take a bit of time to think about everything you have achieved in Primary 6.  I hope one of the big highlights was rehearsing and hosting your Burns’ Supper, it was certainly a highlight for me.  Also, think about how well you have all adapted to learning online over the last 14 weeks.  I am so proud of each and every one of you and I hope you are all proud of yourselves.  You have shown you are adaptable and resilient.  You have changed the way you learn, communicate and organise yourselves with very little advance notice.  You will use the technological and communication skills you have learned throughout your lives.  Just think of all the stories you’ll be able to tell your own children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews in the future.  We have all lived through a period of time that will be taught in history lessons in years to come, no-one will forget the events of the year 2020!

The tasks for this morning should be fun to do.

The final maths mystery puzzle.  Make sure you find out the culprit but also their confession message:

mystery-of-the-missing-medals-maths-game

Complete the A-Z of this school year:

A-Z-Of-The-School-Year

and finally, play a game of “Would You Rather?”  You can do this on your own but it would probably be more fun if you can get a brother, sister or adult to play along too:

would-you-rather-game

Remember, class Teams chats are this afternoon instead of Friday.

Speak to you all later,

Mrs Morrison & Mrs Lea
