Curriculum areas and subjects

In Maths, some children were learning the 3 times table whilst others went over the 6 times table. We used the formal method as it helps use to multiply bigger numbers. Some of us found it tricky to use the formal method but we persevered and got better.

We have been learning about contractions (can’t, haven’t, you’d etc.). We had to split the contracted word in to the two words, for example, shouldn’t to should not. We then had to do the opposite by creating the contracted word and we had to make sure we used the apostrophe correctly.

Interdisciplinary learning

We have been learning about Forest Friendly Farming. People use to hunt the animals in the rainforest to protect their crops but now they scare them away. There are three elements to Forest Friendly Farming which are: working together, farming sustainability and protecting the rainforest.

We also learnt how cocoa farmer use to not make a lot of money because the businessmen controlled the prices. Now Fairtrade has helped the farmers to get a fair price for their cocoa beans.

The ethos and life of the school

On Thursday it was World Book Day. Every time the bell rang, we had to stop our work and read. The bell rang a lot.  We also had the opportunity to buy books.

Opportunities for Personal Achievements

Next Friday we have our class assembly. This week we have been working hard to learn the songs.
