Week Beginning 6.1.20
P1B highlights:
Jude – “I liked when we made goals for 2020.” The children learned that in the new year, people like to make promises to themselves to help them be a better person. These are called ‘New Year Resolutions’. We watched a clip on YouTube showing footballers scoring goals. Sometimes they got the ball into the net and sometimes they didn’t but kept trying. We then set our own goals and know to keep trying if we fail. As we tried to score a goal in a basket, we shouted out our goal. P1B had some super ideas! We then wrote about them. Good luck P1B trying to achieve your goals. I know you can do!
Shelby – “I liked looking at the picture of Jude’s new little sister.” Congratulations to Jude on becoming a big brother again! Baby Martha made her entrance into the world over the Christmas holidays. What a present! She is beautiful and we wish Jude and his family and big Congratulations from P1B.
Amelia – Amelia told us that she liked playing with the baby dolls. Amelia liked dressing and undressing them. We will be learning how to take care of a baby in the Spring and fingers crossed will have a real life baby come to visit us!
Stefi – “I liked making boats. Mine sunk.” The children have been learning about the story of Noah’s Ark this week. We followed this up with making our own boats. We had origami paper boats, boats made from plastic bricks and boats made from plasticine. Only the paper boats sailed. We learned about something called ‘density’. High density means it will sink and low density means it will float.
Mrs Devlin’s Highlight – My highlight of the week was seeing the children again on Tuesday. I believe they have all grown! It was so nice to hear the goals they have set themselves for the year ahead! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and a peaceful New Year!
