Primary 1B Learning Highlights 27th February 2026

This week we have been learning all about frogs. We had to label a frog and then correctly sequence the lifecycle. We learned about tadpoles and froglets. In writing, we wrote an information report all about frogs.

In Literacy, we have been learning the ‘ch’ and ‘sh’ digraphs. We used these in sentences and wrote words with these sounds.

In maths, we have been learning to tell the time. We had to match the digital and analogue clocks to show the correct o’clock times.

For Outdoor Learning, we were using the flints to make sparks and we enjoyed spending some time in the hammocks.

It was lovely to see all the families at the Parent Consultations this week and to discuss the great progress being made by our class.

Here are some of our personal highlights from this week:

Niall – I enjoyed learning about frogs.

Carson – I enjoyed making paper phones.

Mikayla – I enjoyed learning on the Smartboard.

Aayat – I enjoyed playing in the vet surgery role play area.

Alayha – I enjoyed writing about frogs.

Congratulations to our Hot Chocolate Winner, Freya, who has been working hard on her writing. Well done to our Reading Champion, Alfie, who has been confidently reading common words and finding them in books during ERIC time.
